This is by far the best phone I have ever had. I also have an HTC One and my husband has an HTC One Mini. I also have tried several Samsung phones over the years and a couple of iPhones. I must say that the HTC One Max beats them all.

Professional reviewers complain that it doesn't have the latest Snapdragon 800 processor, that there is no optical stabilisation for photo taking. Both are true but a) the Snapdragon 600 is more than sufficient: this phone runs even better than the HTC One, and the HTC One is the smoothest phone I have ever had (no lag as with the Samsung Galaxy) and b) a slightly lower speed means that battery use is also lessened. After a full day of heavy use (I spend half my life checking emails, looking at work documents, browsing the internet etc, it seems!) I still had 55%. That has never happened to me before with any phone. And I haven't noticed any difference with photo taking, even in low light.

At the end of the day, what matters most is not technical specs, it is the comfort of use, and for this, the One Max is unbeatable (by contrast, for ex, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 has significantly higher specs, but it stutters, just like the S4 itself). So here are the strong points of the HTC One Max from a heavy user's perspective:

- wonderful screen, clear and crisp, and so much space! It makes reading, browsing, watching films, videos, looking at photos so much easier. Your photos don't look like blown up stamps anymore, you can actually see (and edit) details. It also means that the keyboard is a little bigger, which makes for better typing. The native keyboard is good but do yourself a favour and get Swiftkey...

- size: yes, it takes space, but it is SO worth it.

Last month, HTC sent me an HTC One Max for testing. Originally I doubted if I would really like this huge phone because it looked really big, but after using for a few days, I just can't go back to my HTC One -- its screen is now too small! I already get used to the big screen and enjoy reading books and articles on the HTC One Max.

Also, the fingerprint is a great but seldom mentioned feature. It was a bit troublesome in the first few days, but after I am familiar with the position and the way to swap the detector, I find using finger scan is much more convenience and quicker than using pattern to unlock. It also allows you to record three different fingers' print so you can launch different apps using different fingers -- now I have set my left index finger to just unlock, right index finger to unlock and launch camera, and right middle finger to launch the recorder (cause I always need to record for my work). Usually I can unlock in the first try.

The photo quality is good, together with video highlight, making photos into a short video is loads of fund. I have just been to a kid's birthday party and I used the photo I took to make a video using video highlight, and his mum love the video and said it was really professional. And I just clicked a few buttons!

The TV remote is also easy to use, just need some simple configuration, you can use your phone to control your TV.

And battery is just great, normal usage (three hours commute with reading/web browsing/gaming), play music throughout the day, and sometimes receiving emails, whatsapp, call. After around 12 hours, there are still 20% battery left.

This device is no less than awesome!!! Beautiful big screen, fastest performance, neat Sense 5.5 interface, premium aluminium design, long battery life despite it's sealed and irremovable, stereo loud speakers in the front, fingerprint scanner which is a cool feature doesn't work every time though - in that case you need a backup pin code. No stylus pen included but one can purchase separately and fetch it some place (no dedicated holder),
The main issue is the overall weight - about 217 gr. and the screen size may not fit to everyone, depends on your hand shape and your ability to maneuver as most actions would require 2 hands use.
Otherwise - this is simply the best for this year!

Pros: Screen Clarity , Sound ,Camera , HTC Scribble Sense ,Battery life ..HTC Zoe, Video Highlights, Sense TV, Gif creator.Slow Motion Video , Music player with Lyrics , Finger print Scanner and Finally the Blinkfeed one Stop for all your Social Media.

Cons : Nothing in real apart from its Size if you do not like phablets.

There is lot of negative reviews regarding this related to Processor and Bulky Size .. But I would say the phone is so fast and not lagging at any point . It handles all the apps and process like a cake walk. I work for geek Squad and i ve been working on Phones and this phone is a monster. I would say you ll never regret buying this device.
Most of the unlocked Devices will not work with 4G LTE of AT&T with works with H+ which is high speed data which will more than enough for you to stream videos in high Quality.

Phone works, but it was locked. I bought it specifically because I wanted an unlocked phone.

I had to work with HTC to get it unlocked. It took some expertise and comfort with command line and the Android Debug Bridge, but I got it figured out in an afternoon.
