Only thing to remember though is only have them plugged in during VR sessions and when you’re done unplug them, I made the mistake of leaving one of my base stations on for an extremely long period of time which burnt out one of the lights or whatever on the inside which is required for it to function which lead to me having to buy a replacement for it
Also you can play VR with just one singular base station however it’s extremely restricted in how much you can move around your playspace since you have to stay facing the in the base station’s direction the entire time, so i’d heavily recommend getting at least 2 of them which will allow you to at the very least have basic 360 degree tracking allowing you to move however you want as long as you’re still within both the base station’s view. And you can go up to 4 base stations if you have a big enough play area in order to get the maximum quality tracking ingame as possible
Overall an amazing product despite being a bit pricey

NOTE:- The power supply is continental flat 2pin, I used my existing power supply so this was not an issue, adaptors are readily available.

This fault code seems to be very common on this unit (search for "HTC Vive Base Unit Blinking Red" and you'll see issues from 2017 ... many of which occur immediately AFTER a firmware update).
I can send it to HTC, but they aren't promising anything (and suggest that it is at least 3wks of repair time from the time they receive it ... or about a month in total factoring in shipping time). Also, I have to pay to ship the 6wk old defective unit back to them.
This is after buying the HTC Vive Pro for a flight simulator, where there was no indication that a base station was even required (much less the hand controllers). BE AWARE ... at LEAST one base station is ABSOLUTELY required for the premium $800 - $1000 Vive Pro to work. Also ... much of the software requires the handsets too.
The HTC Vive system is NOT worth the money. I'm $2000 into the whole setup now, just to make my initial $1000 investment in the Vive Pro work at all, and it seems my brother with a $400 Oculus (for the COMPLETE system) is having no issues at all.

After plugging it in and launching Steam VR I was faced with a tracking error message followed by a request to update the firmware of the lighthouse. After doing so and restarting Steam VR, My Vive was working just as good as before. I haven't noticed any tracking issues even though the laser array is different from my older version .
You can see the LED layout in the picture.
The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was the cost. It's ridiculously expensive considering you can get a whole Oculus setup for the price of 2 sensors.
It doesn't really matter if I recommend this or not because it's more about needing one or not. there is no alternative to it!

That's when i realized it was refurbished selling it as new. which is misleading and false advertised. Not to mention the bloody thing didn't even work! saying there is an internal problem error code 10010.
Sure i could reset the device and uninstall the updates to fix this issue but valve themselves even said it does nothing but ignore the warning sign.
End conclusion - Be weary when buying base stations from here.
