I wanted to like this, but I can't
1- flight is too quirky (ie doesn't trim well, nor stay trimmed, and controls are overly sensitive)
2- After a few (less than 10) flights, it still binds but doesn't always display a picture (ie blank screen)
3- No matter how hard I try, it just will not hover in place
4- screen (3in) is just too small and has a poor display visibility angle (ie you have to be looking straight at it.
5- Kind of a Catch-22. Outside the display can be washed by sunlight, inside it needs lights turned on. There just isn't a happy medium
6- Doesn't fly well if there is a breeze outside or if you are using a fan or A/C inside
FPV is much harder than it looks.
Pros:
1- The X4 quad flies okay and is responsive.
2- The screen is well laid out, bright and clear.
3- Controls are intuitive if you are used to flying.
4- Transmitter is larger and heavier that a typical toy drone transmitter, but is a good design that is easy to hold and well balanced.
5- Flight time is around 5 min.
6- Real bright navigation lights, which you can see in your peripheral vision (and you need that when learning).
7- Good for LOS and night flying.
Not all are exactly Cons, but I think just typical of screen (non-goggle) FPV in general
1- It's hard and not for beginning flyers.
2- Even in default speed 1 (beginner) it is overly sensitive.
3- There is no sense of up/down (ie how high).
4- There is no side vision and that leads to hitting stuff you never see.
5- You are okay only if going forward (ie moving toward some object).
6- It really too small to fly outside except on a really calm day, and too quirky to fly inside in a small area.
7- Prop guard is pretty flimsy and can't take many hard hits.
8- As you might expect, the transmitter eats batteries.
So close, but yet so far. If you are buying this for its FPV functionality, I would recommend going with something else (inductrix probably after all my research).
I didn't gift this to him with the idea that it would last endlessly, of course.
He's enjoying it very much. Here's my quibble: the video should play in Windows Media Player or whatever Mac has without an issue, but it doesn't. I might very well be doing something wrong, of course. We inserted a micro-SD card (not included) into the control module, but after inserting the card with video into the laptop, it wouldn't play. The only way we could play the video back was by downloading a proprietary media player, which is free. But be warned, the download could include a lot of add-ons if you aren't careful. Don't just click your way through without reading each window that comes up.
The camera doesn't produce wildly great video. But it does amuse a nine-year old with his first video-capable drone. Make sure you're recording in plenty of light. It needs it.
This thing is an absolute blast to fly. Average flight time is about 20 minutes per battery (you want multiple batteries and a multi-battery charger unit) and the controller unit will eat AA batteries like it's going out of style, (maybe 15-20 flights before needing new batteries?). There are mods you can do to the controller to get it to run off of a USB power pack, might have to consider doing that.
Face it, you're going to crash. You're going to do it a lot. The good news is that the kit comes with a few spares to get you going again. I highly recommend the bump guard and accessory kit (just amazon search the model number) as it's inexpensive and it's worth every penny in keeping your quad flying.
Overall, I love my quad and I am so glad I got the FPV version. It is very exciting to fly and once you get the hang of the basics (Unplanned Rapid Descent is not "landing", it's "crashing.) and get some time under your belt, you'll be doing flips and swarming around the house like the pros.
Highly recommended.
Top reviews from other countries

ok so let's break this down.
Is the camera good? no, not really.
Is the FPV range long? nah, not particularly.
Can it do tricks? well technically, but it's not proper acro.
So why should I get it?
Cos it's an awesome little thing. Take it outside on a calm day, turn it to expert and this thing goes like stink! Despite the limited range and resolution, you can actually FPV a bit with this at lower speeds, but it's better with goggles (or the advanced hubsan transmitter) and the FoV isn't great which can make it tricky in tight areas. But this was my first little quad and I am now hooked, so without it I wouldn't be broke from an awesome hobby! :D As a package, this is a great FPV intro and a nippy little LoS flyer and if you don't know where to start, this isn't a bad place at all. But this is something you move on from, not upgrade to.
