"I know how to quit things. Nicki does too. This is a fun and inspiring book about not quitting. It’s about hanging in there and seeing the beauty in staying when you feel like bolting. Nicki doesn’t tell us to just take a longer view of our circumstances, but a more accurate one of ourselves and what God might do if we didn’t quit. 5 Habits of a Woman Who Doesn’t Quit won’t make you want to be like Nicki; you’ll want to be more like Jesus."
-- Bob Goff, best-selling author and speaker
"Do you start out of the chutes with great ambition, but soon lose your steam? Ever vow to tackle projects, but then feel like the projects tackle you instead? If you are a quitter who longs to quit quitting, this book is your God-sent solution. 5 Habits of a Woman Who Doesn’t Quit will empower you to finish up instead of fizzling out, reaching your goals effectively. Highly recommended!"
-- Karen Ehman, New York Times best-selling author of Keep It Shut and LET. IT. GO., Proverbs 31 Ministries speaker, wife, mother, and recovering quitter
"For years, I felt like a failure in my faith and in my calling because I quit something every week. Sometimes I turned in my resignation. Other times I secretly quit in my heart. But every time I gave up on ministry, threw in the towel on motherhood or called it quits on God, I wondered what was wrong with me. Why didn’t I have the courage to persevere? If only I would have had 5 Habits of a Woman Who Doesn’t Quit by my friend Nicki Koziarz! If you’re looking for a friend who gets you and who won’t let you give up on yourself or your God, this book is for you! Packed with lifechanging perspectives and stick-to-your-bones wisdom, Nicki has written a blueprint we’ll turn to again and again, and a resource we will want to give all our friends!"

I love how she intertwines her story with Ruth's as well. I don't know about you, but sometimes I forget that people in the Bible were real people not just characters in a story. Nicki helps bring Ruth's story to life. Ruth's story is real and applicable to our lives today. Who hasn't at one time or another experienced something life changing that has made us want to quit? I know I have. That is why I am so thankful for this book and its message. You see, I believe together we can become women who don't quit.
5 Habits of a Woman Who Doesn't Quit
The book is "5 Habits of a Woman Who Doesn't Quit" by Nicki Koziarz.
I don't remember how it caught my eye but I ended up buying the paper copy, the kindle version AND the audible version! Over the last 2 months or so, I've listened to the entire thing at least 3 times, also read it and reread/highlighted my kindle version! I also participated in an online Bible study through Proverbs 31 Ministries for 5 weeks which included other videos, blog posts, questions, etc. that aren't in the book.
Now, seriously! I've been wanting to post something about the book for a few weeks from the first time I listened to the whole book, but I had to finish the Bible study (and on time!) so that I could actually say I DID NOT QUIT! Lol!!
From the foreword that had the statement "A committed woman learns to choose what she wants most over what she wants now." to the last chapter that had the verse "So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don't give up." (Galatians 6:9) "Don't give up!" If I could make that bold or underline it I would. This book has truly both challenged me and helped me to continue to persevere in various aspects of my life that I struggle with giving up or quitting. It's also helped me see areas of my life that I didn't even realize I was being "a quitter."
This is probably the first book I've ever (voluntarily) read, reread and studied and actually wrote out thoughts and answers to questions through the ENTIRE book!! So often I'll start a book or other study and love it but then never finish it. This was not that way!
I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend it!
I always enjoy reading books by authors who don't claim to know it all, but are wiling to share the tough life lessons that have brought them one step closer to the person they were created to be. Nicki is warm and endearing, and her willingness to be vulnerable and honest about her shortcomings is a breath of fresh air.
I love how this book was saturated with truth from scripture and the beautiful story of Ruth's faithfulness in spite of her challenging circumstances. A few of my favorite take-away's from the book were: the challenge to discover my refinement assignment, to choose what I want most over what I want now, and how following through unleashes the power of God in my life.
I would highly recommend this book to you if you have ever struggled with the whole "quitting" thing. There is so much practical application in the "Make it Stick" and "To be Honest" sections at the end of each chapter, you won't be able to help but apply the 5 habits to your own unique situation.
