Ignore the editing and grammar and you will learn a lot

Readers who work in the IT field will not be horrified by the almost-absent editing and poor use of the English language in this book. On the inside however we are familiar with programmers who are brilliant in their design and coding but very sloppy in communication skills and documentation. Once you get past the writing skills or lack thereof you will find many useful tips in both hacking and in protecting yourself from hackers. With over 40 years of IT experience I can say that I learned some valuable information from this book although some of the methods are outdated.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I am a security trainer and it has given me excellent logic and background for my students. I will admit that the editing needs help so on that note the editing gets a 3, but the information received far outdistanced the editing issues that the book still received a 5 star rating. I encourage everyone looking to get started in the Security life to start here and build from what is there. It is like hacking for dummies, without the crappy title.

The book has lots of grammar errors. The writer uses lots of large spaced out font and repeating content over and over again to add filler to the book. While there's some content in this book the grammar errors and filler is a frustrating distraction. Many of the pages have font so big that only one sentence fits on the screen.

Unfortunately, while there are actually so useful tips in this publication, it is very hard to get past the fact that it seems to be in worse shape than a rough draft; that is to say, there are an intolerable amount of spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors in every paragraph, if not every sentence.
