Update: 5 months after wearing these slippers, a hole developed in the toe of the right slipper. These are way too expensive to wear poorly. Will never buy this brand again!
*** Update. It's about 6 weeks later, and it's gotten cooler. My cushy slippers were all hurting my feet, so I gave these another try. Perhaps I've just gotten used to the weight, but they don't bother me as much any more. No cramps in the top of my foot from keeping them on. And when it's cold enough to wear socks, they do fit better. Raised from 3 to 4 stars. I look forward to putting these on when I get home from work as they seem to relieve my foot pain like no other shoes.
**** Update 12/28/14 - I have now owned these slippers for 5 months, and the right one has a huge hole in the toe area. Because the shoes are so heavy, I tend to point my toes up when I walk to keep them on my feet. I'm sure that's what caused the hole as I keep my nails very short. So back down to three stars and am contemplating two. I paid too much for these for them to wear out that quickly.
I got my dad a pair as well since he smokes a pipe outside a few times a day. He can slip these on and head out onto his back deck then slip them off when he's back inside. Even though the entry says "Women's" you can choose a men's size and, if they care, color. Dad got black and they also fit good and don't look feminine at all. Neither do my wife's look masculine. They are just excellent, functional slippers.
Anyway, despite the tripping it causes me I do really enjoy this slipper and would recommend them.
Update: I am revising my 5 stars to 1 star due to the lack of durability of these slippers. The material of the slippers may be wool but it is put together like felt and has been coming slowly apart. After just a couple months of ownership, I have holes in the toes and the material on the bottom of the slippers has been pilling up. Even though the slippers have been very comfortable, I don't think I can justify the expense for just a couple months of use.
