Pinpoint-Oxford, commonly called just “pinpoint” for short is a very popular dress shirt fabric. It's both dressy and durable. It has a bit of shine, not as flat as broadcloth, but not as shiny as royal oxford or twill. It works well in both formal and casual occasions.
These are just a tiny bit thinner than regular oxford material, but still having that thick, bulkiness of regular oxford. We expected these to be thinner, dressier, with that little bit of shine as true pinpoints...like our LL Bean or Van Heusen pinpoints. The material blend on these two shirts as well as the ones we have are 60/40 ~ cotton/polyester, so there is no difference there. One of the reasons I'm going into depth about the material, is because my husband works in a very warm office building. He appreciates the thinner material of pinpoint, while still retaining quality and having it be a bit more dressy. The other reason, is that they iron and/or dry clean nicely ~ coming out crisp and sharp. These have been both laundered and dry cleaned. They don't iron as easily, or come out as crisp. However, when dry cleaned, they were fine.
The fit is as expected, the patterns are nice, just not what we've come to expect from past experiences with this type of material.
