Griff Thompson is a professional, even when he finds out that happy-go-lucky Raphie with his mesmerising long hair is a hidden prince. No, he has a race against time to return Raphie to his European home country to save the throne and Raphie’s life. But there are only so many times they can share a bed before the pull between them is too strong to ignore.
No matter the draw, Griff knows his attraction to Raphie is pure fantasy. He’ll do whatever it takes to keep the young prince safe, and that might have to include not breaking his heart. Can he truly walk away, or will true love conquer all?
Hair Out of Place is a steamy, standalone MM romance novel featuring inconvenient bed sharing, romantic home cooking, possibly the worst assassins in the world, really long hair, and one fierce kitty. This book has guaranteed HEA with absolutely no cheating and no cliffhanger.

About the author

Helen Juliet is a British author of contemporary MM fairy tale adaptations, including the international bestselling Beauty and the Beast retelling, Thorn in His Side. She lives just outside of London with her husband and two balls of fluff that occasionally pretend to be cats.
.
She began writing at an early age, later honing her craft online in the world of fanfiction on sites like Wattpad. By the end of 2016 she had written her first book of her own, and in 2017 she achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a full-time author.
.
When she’s not writing she’s usually dancing, singing, filming music videos, taking long walks, working on jigsaw puzzles, drinking prosecco, or talking about Eurovision.
.
She also writes contemporary American small town MM series as HJ Welch, including Pine Cove, Homecoming Hearts, and Paddle Creek College.

I am so glad I took the time to read this. I am usually leery about modern takes on fairy tales, but this is good. I did not feel like I was getting beaten upside the head with Rapunzel references. Hair Out of Place stands on its own.
The story grabbed me right away with Raphie’s quirky yet engaging behavior. And it kept my attention when, at the onset, the author didn’t hesitate to throw deadly circumstances at these characters.
The bad guys are well written, and I could almost picture them as they went through the motions of attempted assassination. They are serious in their intent, but their execution is much lacking. This leads to some danger and pain, but also some comedic relief, keeping the piece from being too heavy. I was kept on my toes, wondering when the next attack would come.
Raphie’s character is what you would expect from someone kept locked up in a tower all his life, minus a lousy attitude. That was one of the very few things I found unbelievable in this tale, because I know I would have an incredibly poor attitude if I was locked up like that. But he is a beautiful person, and I fell in love with him. He is sweet and charming, and just what Griff needs in his life.
Griff's character is not what I would expect a seasoned bodyguard to be. I found it hard to believe in his career's efficacy based on some of the book's incidents. The immediate and sometimes overwhelming feelings, both emotional and physical, that he has for Raphie would be a good reason to knock him off his professional game, though. And their connection is strong from the very first. His backstory gives the wheres and whys of his life and outlook, but I wish I could have learned more about him.
In all, I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I look forward to more from this author.
This grumpy/sunshine story is well worth every minute spent reading it. Cannot recommend enough!

He certainly couldn't have foreseen parachuting from the 60th floor penthouse with Raphael clinging to him, and Sparrow, Raphael's pet cat coming along for the ride!.
This was not the boring assignment he'd been led to believe it would be, with an active hit out on Raphael, they must get to Campanula. The only way to hopefully call off the hit is for Raphael to be Crowned King before his 12 year old half sisters Coronation.
This is a modern day fairytale, with all that entails, lots of laugh out loud moments as well as action, drama and romance (swoon).

The pair race across Europe, trying to outrun a group of competing, if slightly inept, assassins. Griff is determined to remain professional but can't help but loose his heart to Raphie.
