I've been an electronic tech for over 30 years that specializes in audio/video install. I used to buy nothing but Xcelite wire cutters for small #22 gauge wires and they used to be the best. Not anymore. Like so many products these days they no longer are of the high quality they used to be. Cutting blades are no longer flush and are uneven. This is particularly annoying when trying to cut wire ties flat & flush so as to leave no sharp edges.

I almost gave up trying to find a good flush cutting wire cutter till I found the HAKKO CHP MICRO CUTTER< CLEAN CUT 16AWG
Great cutters ! The cutting blades perfectly match up and are even- assuring a nice close clean cut on wires or cable ties. They are also made of very durable hard metal and retain their tight cut. I bought the 5 pack just to make sure I always have a pair. They might be a bit too large for very micro-miniature circuit board work but for normal size components they're just fine. Highly recommended

I have used a variety of flush cutters over the years, some of which were outrageously expensive, and others made of cast iron, which broke after very little usage. I used one of these CHP Micro Cutter for over a year, cutting up to 8 AWG Cable with it and it never broke, all it did was eventually become dull. I have since bought twenty ( 20 ) of these cutters and given some to persons who work with me in the Telecom Industry, with similar results. A very good product for a reasonable price.

Cutting edges meet perfectly and come to a fine point, perfect for fine electronics work. The handles are nicely formed and easy on the hands; no sharp seams and they retain the blades perfectly. I expect 5 to last a long time.

Provides one of the cleanest cut I ever used.

I used it for plastic model kits, which requires a very clean cut so I dont have to hassle with extra works to clean up the cut from the part spruces.

And this cutter is one of the best I had ever used. The only pair that is slightly better cost about 12 times more !

The tool is comfortable to use, with textured buggerized grip an dnot some hard smooth plastic that can slip.

I also used on copper wire too, clean and fine cut.

Been using them for a few months now, proved to be quite durable in holding the edge. All cutter will dull and loose their edge with use, so the 5 pack is a great value.

These inexpensive wire cutters, intended for cutting copper wire, seem well made, better than some other brands I've owned of comparable price. The jaws meet properly in all five I received. The spring was strong enough to do the job - but I started working with unsprung cutters while a teen so spring-loading is something I can take or leave. The straight springs in these seem less liable to annoying failure than the similar quality Radio Shack ones I have, which have a coil spring.

You can't use these for doing much else than cutting copper wire and expect them to work without breaking. I had the jaws of another brand of cutter I'd used for years break while clipping cable ties just before Christmas (which is why I'm buying these). The jaws smacking together over the years had caused a fracture to form in the inexpensive casting. I expect these will fail in the same way sometime down the road.

But for now I have one for my electronic toolbox, one for my electrician's toolbox, one for my model-making toolbox and a couple for spare. And at about $5 a pair the price is more than right.

Best flush cutting snips I've found. Jaws are precision ground. Use them for what they're intended for and the jaws will stay sharp. Cut something too hard and they'll be ruined. The grip is excellent and they are super sharp.

These work extremely well! I manage a vape shop, and we cut kanthal up to as thick as 20awg all day long. Hasn't made a single dent in them. Initially, I purchased a pair from the beading section at WalMart. The 20awg kanthal destroyed those within a matter of weeks. We've been using the same pair for at least a month now, and ZERO issues with these.

These are wonderful micro cutters. I purchased the set of 5 and have spread them around throughout several labs. All who have used them think very highly of them...sharp, precise, and well made. If I ever need more, I will definitely purchase these Hakko cutters.
