What is inside the book itself is fantastic, the illustrations are beautiful, the details are sure to be engaging and a great gift for any Halo fan. What my biggest disappointment was, is that Amazon says that they are selling this book "new", this book had sticker marks on it from being sold elsewhere and had stains along the back since it is not shrink wrapped. Fortunately, I know how to remove sticker residue and these types of stains without damaging the book but I was seriously disappointed since this is both a gift and something I want to go to someone who really cares about Halo and their video game collection.

The book itself is gorgeous, big, heavy, and loaded with glossy full color pages. It is absolute eye candy.

I’m docking a star because the dust jacket was half covered in a sticky substance, which I think was hand soap. It soaked the bottom edge and caused it to be warped. No damage to the book itself but this was a gift for my son. It was shipped by Amazon so someone knew they put it in the box like that. Pretty disappointed. I was able to get the sticky stuff off with a damp washcloth but the warping damage is still there.

I would have tossed the dust jacket but it has an illustration and the inner book cover is black. It’s part of the presentation.

Amazon, watch how you pack things, please. Other books in my order were jammed and edges were ruined.

It's a Halo coffee table art book. Lovely to flip through and the high gloss pages are really nice. The only reason why I'm docking this a star is that they spent all that effort on the pages themselves, and couldn't do a similar, high-gloss for the art sleeve it comes in. The art sleeve has a matte texture and is quite thick, but it will attract dust and is difficult to wipe clean should liquid droplets get on it.

As in my title, please, please please check the packaging for damage. My box came with damage on the corners. Thankfully, this did not really impact the book itself, a minor curl of the free corners occurred, but it is purely cosmetic with no separation of the cover layers. This is not an Amazon or seller issue, this is purely the carrier issue.

9/10 this book doesn’t really waste a page I feel like. I’m so happy they didn’t cram any 343 stuff in this book and let bungie’s legacy shine all the way on every page with a pretty good informative analysis of each thing in the pages. must have book for any above average halo fan. They didn’t go into to much detail at all about noble team they didn’t even show carter or really any images of the interior buildings of the installations or guilty spark concepts. But still a really solid book worth the money just would of made it perfect with that for me.

I'm one of the biggest Halo fans I know. I've been a fan since I was 10, back when Halo: Combat Evolved first released. It's been one hell of a journey. I don't collect many things, and though my most expensive hobby is definitely my love for cars, Halo might be second on that list. So, when I found this product on amazon, it didn't take much time for me to add it to my cart, along with a few other Halo books/art books.

And I was so glad I did. I can't really go into detail about it. If you're reading this, it is likely you're a big Halo fan, and the only question in your mind is "is this worth $25?"

To me, the answer is unabashedly yes. But I'm an admitted Halo-fanboy. I love the art, the music, the characters, the story, the gameplay, the canon, the history. This book is just another cherry on the lovely Halo cake. And I love cherries!

My sister loves the series and is an inspiring digital artist. She loves the book with all the background of the areas and characters.
I noticed little details like there are images and text that are glossed but not the whole page. The inside covers are background art, there is even a nice looking engraving in the cover under the dust jacket.

Years ago I got the Art of Halo book that came before this - which i loved. This seemed like a good follow up. It contains almost everything from the previous book and so much more. It's been a while since I've read through it but if memory serves it covers Halo 1, 2, 3, ODST and reach. So, basically - the Bungie era. Great annotations, a lot of insight - a nice read.
It's so good for reference as well - line drawings, digital paintings - so great.
It also features loads of designs for spartan armor - which i think is what most people are interested to see!

An absolute must for ALL fans of the series - the book is heavily focused on the trilogy developed by Bungie as opposed to the newer stuff. I wouldn't be wrong in saying that the artstyle and just general presentation of the series at it's best was definitely during this time-frame. Highly recommend checking it out for the sake of another awesome piece to the collection.

My 10 year old son saved up his pocket money for this after seeing it in a shop and spending many hours looking through the artwork. He absolutely loves it, his book is littered with pieces of paper for copying the drawings or using them as inspiration for his own which means he can happily spend hours with this book, a pad of paper and his pencils.

For that alone the price is worth it. Although this is probably more about the video game my son was introduced through the Halo Mega Bloks toys, again which spark his imagination in play. It is a pity the video games are rated 15+ really.

I am a big Halo fan and in my opinion this is the best concept art book i have ever read, it contains concept art from all the games and all the pictures are of high quality and to be frank are absolutely stunning. Most photos are usually accompanied by a piece of text describing what the concept art is for and there are also pages dedicated to the transformation from concept art into the finished product in the game.
It is a great book to have a look at even if you are not a halo fan.
