Love this Halo scanner! It even arrived early too. It worked within seconds of scanning our dog. They have two 134hz ISO chips (for travel purposes), one chip can be read at a couple of other countries. Scanner showed both with no confusion. Bought scanner so can be sure dog's microchip continues to display or if it ever moves, need to know. Want to know theirs shows up 100%. Arrived early . So cool and excellent price. Countryside Pet Supply very reliable and packaged well also.

I'm not saying that it will read all microchips. I am saying that I've had no issues with using it with my rescue's chips. This device is opening the door to allow me to microchip my fosters. I was planning on using this for helping strays that end up in my area during those hours that a vet may not be open. Fantastic device. I've only charged it once, there's still life in the device having used it 20 or so times over the course of 3 weeks.

This product is easy to use. the only problem I had with it was the software, which is not included with mine, although there is a link in the instructions to download it. I raise/show Abyssinian cats, all of which are chipped, and I wanted a quick and easy way of verifying the information I had. After charging it up, which I really didn't need to do, as it was charged out of the box, I was able to get everyone scanned with no problem. Nobody got spooked, which was surprising, and a couple even rubbed up against the unit, basically scanning themselves. A good value and a great tool.

I am one of the admins for our local pet Lost and Found group and the other admins and several members have purchased this unit to help reunite lost pets with their families without having to take them to the shelter. In combination we've probably used one of these devices to reunite 200+ pets over the last 3 years and have had less than a dozen situations where the Halo didn't find the chip where the unit at the shelter did, and in each case these were the AVID encrypted chips that Halo says can't be detected. Very highly recommended, my only feature gripe is the lack of a memory function so that you have to take a picture of the chip number immediately so that you can read it back to the chip registration service you are calling in to. Bottom line is it does exactly what it says it does for 1/4 the cost of the Home Again/Merck model. Highly recommended.
