It is pointless to compare 'Halo the game' to 'Halo the TV series' to 'Halo the anime', for they are very different mediums and there is really no comparison between them. They are as the old saying goes, "apples and oranges," being incomparable or incommensurable. Therefore each should stand on its own excellence and not on any faithfulness to the game or one another.
"Halo: The TV Series" is a 2022 Live-Action American military science fiction television series based on the video game franchise of the same name, the series follows a 26th-century war between the United Nations Space Command and the Covenant, a theocratic-military alliance of several alien races determined to eradicate humanity, starring Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 and Jen Taylor as Cortana, and consists of nine episodes, not part of Halo’s Core Canon, introducing a new timeline specifically created for the TV series, called the ‘Silver Timeline‘, similar to, yet slightly different from the events in the video games. The timeline has to be separate because there are some key differences between the show and the rest of the franchise, like the fates of the planet Madrigal and the settlement known as The Rubble. The first season begins around the 'Fall of Reach,' when Master Chief and Silver Team are searching the galaxy for the first Halo ring in an effort to turn the tide in the war with the Covenant. Season 1, consisting of 9 1hr Episodes was first broadcast March 24, 2022, and Season 2, consisting of 8 1hr Episodes was first broadcast February 8, 2024. Season 1 was released on DVD and Blu-ray on November 15, 2022. Season 2 DVD Blu-ray release has not been announced.
The storyline is fantastic, the acting is spellbinding, and the visuals are captivating. The disc collection is a must have for Halo aficionados. There is no such thing as bad Halo!
