From the Author
The Halyard Hitch is the second book in The Gance and Grace Mysteries, following Volume I, The Clear Case. This series evokes the imagery, language, and aesthetics of film noir while exploring the historical world of post-war San Francisco. You may imagine the city at this time in black, white, and shades of gray. But if you can see the vibrant colors, you might discover the flower you picked is sticky and toxic. Gance and Grace analyze tone and value just as they do clues and testimony. Their mysteries mix and challenge the hardboiled detective and film noir genres, revealing more of the annals of history and how we choose to read them.
