Once preheated, place the bottom half of your bread choice onto the bottom plate and top it with ingredients such as precooked meats, cheese and vegetables.
Then, lower the top ring and cooking plate. Crack an egg onto the cooking plate and pierce the yolk.
Place the other half of your bread selection on top of the egg and close the cover.
After 5 minutes, rotate the cooking plate handle until it stops. Using an oven mitt, lift the ring assembly and cover via the bottom handle and voilà, your breakfast sandwich is complete!
Go healthy or hearty, depending on your mood:
If you want to explore healthy breakfast alternatives and eat less processed food, the Breakfast Sandwich Maker can help. On the other hand, when you want to indulge in a satisfying, protein-packed sandwich, the Breakfast Sandwich Maker is ready to oblige. To make this kind of breakfast sandwich, use a whole egg and layer on your favorite cheese and meat. You can even use a pancake as the bread and pour syrup on your finished sandwich. What you make and how you eat it is completely up to you. Since you can make two at once, each can be customized you your liking.
Make breakfast sandwiches the easy way:
If you’ve ever prepared breakfast sandwiches at home, you know it’s a multi-step process often requiring more than one pan and a toaster for the bread. And that means you’ll have to clean multiple pans, too. On mornings when you have extra time and energy to spare, that’s fine. But what about mornings when you don’t? You can still whip up two delicious breakfast sandwiches, thanks to the five-minute cooking time and easy cleanup. Know exactly how long until breakfast is ready, the built-in timer can be set in half-minute increments. A tone sounds when your sandwiches are ready.

I will say, however, that there are some tricks to really getting the ultimate experience with this maker. Lucky for you, I've made a video to share all I've learned from my trial and errors, so you can go straight from unboxing to impressing yourself and your friends with the perfect breakfast sandwich!
Hope you're able to enjoy this little maker as much as my family does.

The booklet that came with the thing suggested using frozen pancakes from the supermarket as the "bread." I bought some frozen waffles instead and plan to try them tomorrow--I'll have to trim them a little as their diameter is slightly larger than the cooking compartment.
I'm thinking waffles, bacon or ham, thinly sliced apple, cheese, and an egg (or not). Or kaiser roll, corned beef, swiss cheese, and some sauerkraut for an nice Reuben. Or just cheese, apple, and onion, on a bagel.
UPDATE- Dec 19, 2013.
I'M SO FREAKING CLEVER!!
I made my sandwich this morning using frozen waffles. Hehe. The waffles were a l-e-e-e-e-t-l-e bit too big to fit in the compartments, so I trimmed the edge with a pair of scissors. Then (this is the really good part!) I took the cut-off edge and lined the sides of the egg compartment, so when I broke the egg in there, the rim of waffle material contained it. SO CLEVER! (Feel free to notify the Nobel Prize Committee.) I put waffle on the bottom, a slice of cheese, a thin piece of ham folded over a schmear of apricot jam (those who don't like to mix their sweets and their savories can just gag and move on), then the egg in its compartment lined with waffle material, topped with the second waffle. Five minutes cooked everything nicely. I removed the sandwich and put it on a small rack over a paper plate to cool off. By the time I finished my morning tasks, it was ready to eat.
If precise timing is of the essence, suggest you set your timer for 4:30, to give yourself 30 seconds to run from the far corners of the house to rescue your sandwich. Five minutes was the outside limit to keep from over-browning the waffle. With an English muffin, it doesn't matter so much as they are made of sturdier stuff.
EDIT: After about a year we've had to get rid of our sandwich maker when the non-stick started to peel. We were careful to hand-wash the egg ring in warm water, so I think the heat from the device itself is the culprit, it gets EXTREMELY hot. Another nitpick is that the top and bottom plates aren't removable, and after time simply wiping them down feels... dirty. It was a fun gadget though, and it lasted awhile. I docked 1 star for limited life.
The first one went to college with my son. He used to eat frozen breakfast sandwiches, which were none too healthy. He love this and uses it regularly for a healthier breakfast. The beauty of this device for a college student is it comes apart easily (see photo) and simply wipes clean.
After using his several times I received one for my birthday. I've used it for breakfast and lunch.
Tip #1: Be sure to spray with a cooking oil at least the first few times you use it. Your egg will stick if you don't do this. It seems to get "seasoned" after a while so that cooking oil is not needed all of the time.
Tip #2: Use English muffins. Yes, biscuits will work, but english muffins fit perfectly and honestly seem to taste the best when warmed in this device.
Tip #3: Use any leftover meat you have. I've sliced up grilled pork, beef and baked chicken. Ham is especially delicious.
