I forgot about it for a while then decided i really missed it. I looked around at other brands but this one did everything I wanted and held up fairly well for being inexpensive and used so much so I purchased a second one. That one has been going strong for about eight months. I don't know how long it has left in it but even if I have to buy one every couple of years, it's not a bad deal. I could get a much more expensive blender that would probably last for ages but I don't need that for smoothies and shakes. I like that I can take the cup with me and not have to mess up two cups and it washes up fine. I always wash the cup by hand and dry it then put it right back on the blender for my next use. I wish it had just a bit more capacity though. 20 ounces would be great. But this one gives me enough especially if I am drinking a thick smoothie that is dense and filling.
This blender isn't great at crushing ice or very hard things but is perfect for fruits, veggies, protein powders, and other softer or powdered things. I liked it enough that I bought two of them and I am hoping that the one I have now will hold up longer than the first one. I would say, for the price, you really can't go wrong unless, of course, the motor poops out really quickly like some of the reviewers here are saying. So far, I haven't had that issue although I admit that the motor does seem to just die when it feels like it. Luckily I got enough time out of my first one to make it worth buying a second one.
I love that it is small and takes up WAY less space than a regular blender. The container is plastic. The blade is metal. Oh, the other thing that I don't love is that the bottom piece with the blade doesn't seem to unscrew off. So, it is hard to clean. If you happen to leave it in your sink and rush out the door without filling it with water, I don't know how you would ever get the area by the blades clean.
I thought it would someone I could have in my little apartment instead of a full size blender but unfortunately, I think I am still going to have to buy a full size blender too.
****UPDATE****It is now July 6th I have been using this little blender almost every day. I bought a Ninja but it still sits in a box unopened and I will be returning it. I want to update a few things in my review now that I have used it for awhile;
1-On/Off Switch: This is still annoying but I have found that it takes so little time to blend up the smoothie that it kind of makes no difference.
2-If I put the almond milk in first and THEN put the other ingredients in, I don't have much of an issue with things getting stuck and me having to shake it or put a spoon in it.
3-I have started to use it as a cup as well and LOVE this feature as it is one less dish I need to wash. Also, as soon as I am done, I either wash it or put it in the sink with water. I am religious about this since the bottom doesn't screw off. It is really easy to keep clean so it has not been a problem.
The reason I even though to re-review this is because I am on Amazon buying a second one! I will be using it in my office as well. I can't wait. I have no idea how long this will last but it is going strong so far and for $15, how can you beat that?
