I am thrilled that this mixer still exists. I wore mine out over the many years I used it and ended up breaking a gear inside because i was mixing oatmeal cookie dough that was way, way, way too stiff.
I should have stopped mixing, but I figured a few more seconds would be okay. Anyway, I got tons of use out of it over the years and needed a new one. Happy with the new one. It looks just like the original and is just as sturdy. I don't see that they cheapened it at all.
I took apart the old mixer to see if my brother could fix it, but after looking inside at all the residue of flour and cocoa powder that got sucked into it, I was glad it broke. Maybe that is part of the reason it finally broke. You wipe the outside clean each time, but the stuff is also on the inside. So, I taped some filters to the front and back of my new one to help stop the food dust from getting inside.
