Fun and Flexible
We all love waffles with butter and syrup, but there are many more options. Waffle recipes go from basic to gourmet. Try recipes for pumpkin, berry or chocolate waffles. Or, jazz up plain waffles by topping with whip cream, fresh fruit or apple butter.
The Belgian style grids are made with a non-stick surface for easy removal and cleanup.
Power and Preheat lights
Power on & preheat lights located on top indicate when power is on and when to add batter.
This compact design makes it easy to store upright in a cupboard or pantry.
Now and Later
Most of us don’t have time to make homemade waffles every day, but wouldn’t it be nice to enjoy them any day of the week? You can by making a few extra. Waffles store easily in the refrigerator or the freezer. Just let them cool before packing in an airtight container. When you’re ready to enjoy them, simply reheat in the microwave, toaster, or regular oven.

Top Customer Reviews
I ordered this for a 'Waffle Party' so in a short time have already made over fifty waffles.
In that process I've figured out a few tips:
-It takes almost exactly 1/2 cup of waffle mix in each side to make a full waffle, so I just scoop with a 1/2 measuring cup.
-For waffles with a softer inside: Cook it for about 4 minutes on medium
-For a crispier / crunchier waffle go for five minutes.
-If you want the waffle to be more legitimately 'Belgian' style, add a slight bit more water than your recipe calls for and cook for a little over 4 minutes, that should give you a nice crispy on the outside / soft on the inside waffle.
If you want something fancier with bells and whistles, spend more money.
For the cost this is simply a wonderful waffle maker.
Of course, creating a great waffle depends on more than just the waffle maker. For instance, I always brush on a light coating of refined almond oil (smoke point = 495 degrees F.) before the first batter-pour**. If I smell burning oil smoke before the ready-light goes on, I reduce the temperature. With this unit, I set the min/max knob to max. When the pre-heat light went on (after 4 minutes), the oil was just starting to smoke. I poured the batter into the center of the left 4x5 space and then the center of the right space, finishing off any corners the batter had not yet reached. Once the batter touches the grid, the temperature drops and the smoke, if any, stops immediately. Closing and locking the cover presented no problem. Steam started shooting out right away. Steam is 212 degrees F. so smoke has no chance at this point. As this unit has no built-in timer, but asks you to watch for diminishing steam levels, I just set my own timer to 7 minutes (I use whole grain flours and they always take a little longer to cook). Seven minutes later, an absolutely perfect set of two waffles emerged. They lifted out with a toothpick and slid right out onto my waiting serving plate. Then I poured in the remaining batter, set the timer for another 7 minutes and ate a set of fantastic waffles (after adding fresh blueberries and powdered sugar over them).
** Whipping egg whites in a separate bowl is a must. Mix yolks, sugar, milk, butter, vanilla, salt (unless its in the butter), and flour, in that order, until smooth. Dump in the whipped egg whites and fold the batter over the egg whites (look up folding on your own - the better you do it, the better your waffle will be). This kind of batter does not run much. Unlikely you'll have any trouble with over-pouring problems. Also, notice there's no baking powder or baking soda in the batter. No yeast, either. None are needed. The whipped egg whites do it all.
Tried made-from-scratch "True Belgian Waffles" recipe from food.com. Waffles take about 1 minute longer to finish. The edges of each waffle do not brown as well as the center portion. However, the edges are cooked through. Directions that come with the product state that waffles are done when steam stops rising from the unit and I found this to be true. Per the directions, I did not use any shortening after first-time use. The waffles stuck to the upper plate upon opening the unit but still came away cleanly. May use very light shortening on future attempts. I still recommend this unit.
Smash cut to 2015, when a universe of affordable waffle makers are available to order with the click of a mouse or tap of a touch screen. Tired of suffering substandard waffles, I ordered the 26009. I just finished my first batch for my family of four this morning, and they came out perfectly. In retrospect, I could use a four-square iron, but I needed a waffle maker that was small enough to fit in my rather crowded cabinets.
A+++++ five stars would bake waffles again!
