One of the few books available on cowboy spurs and their origins, this book has graphs, charts, illustrations and over 200 photos demonstrating the origin, manufacture, blacksmithing, distribution, rarity and value of cowboy bits and spurs and their makers from Spanish to Mexican, Texan to modern times. Texas history as well as the history of the bottle opener type spur. It includes a full biography of the Texas spur maker, Joe Bianchi.

I buy, sell and appraise antique arms and all kinds of western memorabilia. I have published 6 books on related subjects from archeology (abd on PhD) to antique arms and natural history. I am a Life Member and Director of the Colt Collectors Association and the current Publications Chairman.
