I have decided that Callie and Dom are my new favorite couple. I enjoy reading about a more mature woman who finds love and happiness after sorrow, but still remains independent and knows what she wants and goes after it.
This story finds Callie and Dom repaying a past debt. When Callie was saved by Tom after almost drowning they discovered that his daughter Emily was missing and probably in the hands of the human traffickers. Callie and Dom agree they will help Tom find her.
This story revolves around their attempts to find out what happened to Emily and bring a happy ending for Tom. Callie teams up with Dom and the CIA/FBI to bring down the traffickers and return Emily.
The story also continues the romance between Dom and Callie. How sweet that two people find love again after loosing their spouses. As Dom and Callie fall further in love they both realize they want each other in their lives forever. With the blessing of their families they plan to make a forever together.
Dom is a strong romantic cowboy who has no trouble expressing his love for Callie in small ways. and some big.
Callie is a strong female who has established herself and realizes that she loves and needs the love of a good man who will treat her right. While she has her man she still is independent and is not above letting him know she doesn't always need to be coddled but loves to be cuddled.
* for further backstory leading up to this book, it is highly recommended to read the author's book: "Madam Court Reporter"
Callie is a court reporter. Dom is a rancher. Callie and Dom both have grown children. Their relationship has grown and matured to a level that is stable and wonderful. Callie's last adventure has made her question what she wants to with the rest of her life. She resents how she is treated at work and resigns. She and Dom have grown closer. However, she feels a deep need to fulfill her promise to help find a missing daughter of a friend.
And so, through resources both have developed, they go after Tom's daughter Emily, who is being held by someone. The results being positive, Callie makes decisions that will affect her relationships now and in the future.
In this series, Zeibert has developed fascinating, mature storylines for a couple of wonderful characters dealing with believable issues. Callie and Dom are great friends as well as a couple I would love to know in reality. I highly recommend this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book.
The third book in the Callie and Dom series and I'm hoping that there will be more. This is quick, page-turner...that is well-written and heart-warming. Following along with Callie and Dom gives you friendship, romance and adventure. I love the strength and independence of Callie and the romantic nature of Dom...making them the perfect couple. A well-rounded story-line from every angle. I highly recommend reading "Incredulity" and "Madame Court Reporter" (Books 1 and 2)....and then continuing with "Hand In Hand"....a great series that keeps you interested and wanting more.
