I used this to trim an arcade coin box to use a different coin acceptor. It was down right abuse of the tool and way beyond what they rate it for. The metal was so thick (and was actually real steel) that when i finally squeezed hard enough to cut the metal the resulting shock actually bruised my hand (I had to wear thick leather gloves for the rest of the cutting). I removed a few square inches of material and the tool held up a lot better than my hands did! This thing would be great for modifying PC cases, trimming automotive sheet metal or any kind of duct work. All of those kinds of metal are lower quality and thinner than what I successfully used it for. Two notes: 1) This thing takes very small bites (probably 1/16 x 1/4"). If you have to remove a lot of metal you are going to be there a while but the tool is going to hold together very well. 2) I also tried using it on very thin metal (an Altoids tin) for practice and it didn't seem to do as well as on thicker metal. On the very thin metal it tended to twist it up and bind instead of nibble it out. It still worked but bound up from time to time. It did not do that on normal or even extra thick metal.

This thing rules. I have hurled a ton of abuse cutting steel and sheet metal with it, even some thicker stuff. I'm sure it won't last forever, but if you just need to cut thin steel and aluminum this thing will eat that for breakfast. Buy two. Where has this thing been all my life???? Indispensable. Way better and cleaner than snips.

This tool performed as expected, nothing more and nothing less. It was a bit smaller than I expected but this did not really affect performance. This tool is perfect for cutting straight lines in sheet metal without warping or distorting the edge. If you do not have access to a foot shear or hydraulic shear, then this tool will suffice for small jobs that are not time-sensitive. (Cutting with this tool is painfully slow.) Also after a few days of use the nibbling head began to sometimes fail to pop back up after finishing a nibble, even after squeezing the handle repeatedly. At one point I had to drop it on the ground every three or four nibbles to get the nibbling head to pop back up. It didn't stop my completing the project, but it made the cuts even more tedious. Knowing what I know now, I probably would have gone for a nicer hand nibbler or maybe a power drill nibbler. I would say if you are looking for something to use on a single project then this is the tool for you. If you want something to use on a regular basis, you should invest in a nicer one.

This item is unbelievable. I needed tool to cut small rectangular holes in 22gauge steel.
First drill with 5/16 bit. Then insert head of tool and square and enlarge hole.
Performance was way beyond my expectations.
22 gauge steel was no problem

It is a hand nibbler. It takes small bites I would not want
or have the patience to make very long, or large area cuts.
It is not a substitute for power nibbler or power shears.
Great control

Really useful gadget for small tasks. Nibbles well and cleanly - just tedious. If I were doing large projects or needed it often, I would opt for a powered one, but for me, this is great. Sides behind the nibble part are not relieved much. This helps going straight, but means you need to plan ahead when making steeper curves. But that's easy to live with.

Most people don't know what a nibbler is but I can promise when you need one it's the only thing that will work. I do a lot of computer work and have to make specialized openings frequently. This is the tool

Was expecting a more narrow cutting area. Ad and picture did not describe it adequately enough.
