I recommend this book for those new to the Catholic faith or those needing to reacquaint themselves with praying.
This book isn't just a book of prayer with a list of prayers, it is also a book on how and why we pray.
The book starts with a few chapters on praying and the reasons we pray. It includes sections on what is expected of Catholics and what the different sacraments mean. Therefore the first part of the book is about what is expected of a good Catholic and I find it is good reference material.
The Majority of the book is on prayers, and covers all aspects of prayer from the basic prayers we all should have memorized, through daily prayer and finally the mass itself. What's nice is the explanations of certain prayers where appropriate, covering where the prayer came from and why and how we use it. Latin versions of traditional prayers are also available through links in the english text.

I wonder if I was the first person to get the Kindle version of this precious book? I was so happy when it came out! Anyway, if you already have the book and love to carry your Kindle with you this is for you. I use it at mass to follow the Mass (i.e. Eucharistic prayer -- it is not a Missal in that it does not contain the daily/Sunday readings). I have a Kindle Paperwhite and this version of the Handbook is easy to maneuver just use "go to" and you see the table of contents. It is also great if you want to see prayers in Latin by tapping on the link next to the title. It is just as easy to toggle back to the English version. Thank you for making this Handbook available for Kindle!!!

Whether you are young in the Catholic Faith or not, this work of Grace is a reassurance during times of Need or Thanks. An excellent reference for those times when you just can't find that gentle focus or clear contemplation of the Lord's Divine Mercies.

This is an extremely comprehensive edition of the best known prayers of the Catholic Church. I highly recommend it. Great Christmas present for anyone practicing the Faith or anyone wishing to return to the Faith.

I bought this for kindle, and keep it on my iPad. It's perfect for every day and for travel. It has all the prayers I could possibly need, along with a thorough examination of conscience. It's not always easy to find a prayer book as complete as this. It's everything I need (along with my access to daily readings and my rosary!) to support my faith life.

I have used the Handbook of Prayres through my own speritual adventure to being a better Catholic. This book is an outstanding source of prayres as well as a good amount of speritual reading. It can be a sort of "cliff notes" of the Catholic faith from the Angelus to the 10 Commandments and how to be a better Catholic. I strongly recommend Fr. James Socias's work.

Excellent book, I have a hard copy and a copy on my ipad. First class, well written and presented. A valuable addition to anyone who uses and reads a prayer book.
I would like to see a leather bound edition released.

I have the printed version of this book and I love it. I just needed the convenience to carry it around all the time in my phone. The only thing I would change, is that in the printed version you can see the Latin and English prayers side to side, and I would add some songs at the end of the book like: Holy God, We praise Thy Name.
Over all, great book
