After a fall which fractured a vertebrae and a prolonged hospital stay following a bout with pneumonia, I knew I needed more help than my conventional grab bars were giving me. It took a bit of engineering to make it stable where I needed it but well worth it. (There was no stud where it needed to go and the wall was plasterboard). The elegant solution in my case was a wooden "plate attached to the studs on either side) and the bar bolted into the plate. (Thanks, John)
Arrived promptly. Love this bar! It is so sturdy. Love the "texturing" on the bar which makes it much easier to use. This is MUCH more stable than the on-seat elevated toilet seat that I used. OK, the nitty-gritty. Easy for me to put together. Easy for me to use. As I have good days and bad days, I have decided simply to leave it in place all the time!
Love this bar! It is so sturdy. Love the "texturing" on the bar which makes it much easier for my 87 year old mother to hold on to. Love that it can be folded up against the wall, too, when needed. Excellent product. Recommend professional installation unless you're a master handyman.
This is a very Strong and Sturdy bar and the bracket is really strong. The one draw back is the side to side is of a concern - it is wobbly side to side and I am afraid if it is leaned on the side it will pull out of the wall - Not sure how that can be fixed as the screws are already quite long. This bar will definitely hold the weight of a person pushing down on it though - very impressed
