Adorned with beautiful colored glass dots, they're a stylish and environmentally friendly addition to your kitchenware. * Specs - Dimensions: 9"H and 9.5mm diameter. * Includes - (1) Red Decorative Dotted Straw, (1) Blue Decorative Dotted Straw, (1) Green Decorative Dotted Straw, (1) Amber Decorative Dotted Straw, and (1) Straw Cleaning Brush.

It could easily have been my fault for not researching it enough, but I thought the straws were going to be thinner. I've been told by friends--who know a lot about glass--that making glass straws that don't easily break means the straws have to be a little thick/big. They can't just look like traditional straws, but in glass. Darn.
My concerns before I got them were that they would be strange to use. I have not found that to be the case, I got used to them pretty quickly and my wife and sister-in-law like them fine too. I also thought they may be a bad length, but they are just right for regular height drinking glasses and work just fine in the shorter ones too. I was worried they may be fragile, but I don't see breaking these very easily. And lastly, ease of cleaning. They are very easy to clean and come with a little brush. I am far from a clean freak but I hate that stale water smell that is created in plastic that doesn't dry right. These have no issues there.
I like 'em. The dots look a little weird to me, not really pretty or funky or cool. Just weird. But I would buy them again for myself and probably will get some for gifts.
They seem to be durable, too. I've dropped and banged them by accident without any problem. Look at the Glass Dharma website for warranty information. They stand behind their product. These have met my every expectation! Bye-bye, plastic.
-No added taste to drinks
-Withstands hot drinks
-Decorative dots look strange
-One of ours broke
-Heavy, so tips over disposable coffee cups
-Not ideal for mugs
(see picture, where the straws are in a tall glass)
We broke one of our straws when the straw was in a ceramic mug
- it broke after the straw was flung out of the mug when my friend
swiped her arm across it on our dinner table.
The nice thing was that it did not shatter
in a thousand pieces, but in two places with maybe a dozen or so
Next time I'm going for metal, even if there is an aftertaste.
