The instructions are written in a straight-forward manner to reach all audiences from inexperienced to expert. The pull-out patterns at the end of the book were a nice surprise! I can't wait to try the recipes.
I like the fact that this book includes a year's worth of activities that we can adapt based on our resources and time constraints. I have some projects lined up and I hope to gradually expand upon them as time permits and my skills are strengthened.
it a 2 because of the two items I found that I liked. Wish I could send it back.
I absolutely adored the table top winter village made out of felt, with little gingerbread style homes and Santa's sleigh placed on a white fabric runner and decorated with miniature trees. You need at least basic sewing skills for the projects, (not sure I could handle the sleigh), but I'm excited to try the houses, which they use as place cards in the book.
There are lots of adorable heart crafts for Valentine's Day, plus the most darling St. Patrick's Day decoration ever: tiny green clothes hanging on a clothesline! There's tons of fantastic ideas for other occasions as well, including huge fabric rose centerpieces and yummy bento box desserts.
In addition to holiday celebrations, there are also party ideas for children, including a Mad Scientist party and a Woodland Fairy party. One of my favorite crafts in the book was the Luau tablecloth, with multi-colored leaves that hang down from the table and swing in the breeze. I definitely want to make that next summer for our annual luau!
