I have been somewhat disappointed in most bridal magazines, shows and what not because they only offer traditional, cookie cutter ideas and options. I was very pleased to find a book that offered such nice diy ideas for my upcoming wedding. I adored the differing themes that were offered, such as "girly romantic", "modern classic", etc. The projects were fresh and in some cases very applicable to our wedding.

I bought this book even though I knew it included many projects I already knew, because I was looking for inspiration and for a tool to use with clients (I am a wedding planner) to show them what can be accomplished with seemingly inexpensive ingredients (such as paper, for example).

I have to say I found exactly what I needed. The book has shown me ways of using skills and projects I already knew, but in a different way. But most importantly, it is a solid collection of inspiration boards, that brides can immediately relate to. Instructions are always complete and clear, even though the projects are not always easy to replicate. But that is something we all know: DIY is not an easy route for brides to take, unless they have time, relevant skills and a lot of help from their family and friends.

I think this is a formidable basic reading for planners and brides alike. Build your library on it.

I love this book! The great part about it is that not only does it have sets of colors and styles, but if you find something you like in another style, there's a section that tells you how to make it work for your pick. This has really interesting ideas on how to recycle things you have around the house or things you can pick up at garage sales or at goodwill. Great buy if you have time to craft up your DIY wedding!

I like the organization of the book: after explaining what a theme is as apposed to a motif the book is divided into several themes such as country or graphic. Each theme has projects for the same decorations for a wedding from invitations to centerpieces. Variations are given for some of the projects to use the same directions for a different theme. The directions were complete and easy to follow and include materials and tool lists, timelines, costs, and how to have friends help. Many of the projects could be used for planning other types of events such as special "0" birthdays or wedding anniversaries. I used one of the projects as the inspiration for an auction project for a community theater project where the director had asked for "wedding themed" items; I tried something new and the instructions helped me avoid problems and finish on time.

What is great about this book is that it is more than just a book for someone planning a wedding. The ideas in here could be used for any kind of party. So many creative tips and ideas that now I find myself looking for reasons to have people over to show them off.

This is a must have gift for anyone getting married.

I wanted Pinterest-like DIY instructions. The things in here are very particular to style. Very intricate and old designs. Book could be updated. It is a pretty gift though so it has a sweet spot on the bookshelf. Never used for my wedding.

I'm already married but love planning events and weddings and crafting so I ordered Handmade Weddings. I had seen it mentioned on a blog (i think?) a few months back and couldn't wait any longer. It's an awesomely adorable book filled with GREAT project ideas. I typically only like a few projects in these type of books but i loved and wanted to make almost all of them! I am all but begging for reasons to play around with the ideas the book. I highly recommend this book for any modern crafter. LOVE.

I love this book! It's almost like a text book and would have been a great resource when I was a nanny. Hello Lucky! did my wedding save the dates and invitations and so I knew what to expect. I love all the projects and my only regret is that I didn't have it when I got married last year.
