Hands Off My Gun: Defeating the Plot to Disarm America, by Dana Loesch, was receieved early, from the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. The book, the first by Mrs Loesch (I think), certainly the first I have read by her, is extremely well written. Being from the same area Mrs Loesch comes from, I can attest to what she was writing, in growing up with guns in the household, used to hunt with for food and for protection, if needed. Mrs Loesch covers the anti gun lies touted by the current regime regarding "mass shootings," and the media's constant touting of the Bloomberg talking points about weapons. It is actually no wonder the main stream media is as trusted as the current administration (yes, that was sarcastic).

Mrs Loesch explores the "reality" of why black or camouflaged weapons are the most deadly, annd as accessories are added, they become even more deadly, especially after crossing over into the "assault weapon" range of weapons. Mrs Loesch even tells stories of people, namely women, saving themselves and/or their families while using weapons against thugs. Has anyone heard any of these from the administration or the media? Further, the history of the Second Amendment and conversations the bitter clinger founding fathers had when writing the all important US Constitution, which was written by people for the people to keep the government in check, NOT issued by government for the people to give and take as the government pleases.

Whichever side you fall on (bitter clinger or just uninformed), in regards to the plot to disarm America, remember, in the words of the anointed one, the current gun laws are "it's the law, period."

This book covers a lot of political ground in the fight for gun rights over the last few years. Ms. Loesch does a good and unrelenting job of pointing out the blatant hypocrisy of anti-liberty leftists, elitists, Hollywood types, media moguls, and a couple of billionaires with respect to their not so hidden agenda, to whit: Guns for me, but not for thee!

Additionally, there are chapters showcasing some quotes from the founding fathers, some stories from survivors who used firearms to successfully vanquish rapists, and a discussion about crime statistics in the United States versus some European countries which are often misquoted or intentionally whitewashed by the media.

As to the founding father quotes, some liberal media types have asserted that some of these are inaccurate but this is leftist nonsense. There is nothing startling or controversial here.

Chapter 11 of the book may be particularly nteresting to some as it debunks 14 common lies that the anti-gun crowd tells. But honestly, if you have been paying attention for the last few years, none of these will come to you as a surprise.

If you are a political junkie, or if you really want some analysis of gun politics over the last few years sprinkled with anecdotes and personal observations, and/or you enjoy some good mud-slinging, you will probably enjoy reading this book. Additionally, if you want to do a deeper dive into some of the supporting materials, the book does have a Notes section which references footnotes by chapter.

If you are looking for some concise arguments in favor of the Second Amendment, you might look elsewhere.

I note that all six of the one-star reviews are nearly identical in their comments, posted on the same day, by people for "common sense gun control". The panners foget that in 18th Century America the "people" and the "militia" were one and the same.
Nice try folks; I'll buy the book to spite you. Go get yourself a copy of Halbrook's "That Every Man Be Armed" and come abck when you've read it.

Acceptable....read and judge for yourself....take the comments / ratings with grain of salt....I noted that a number of the 1-star comments from different readers were identical...then I went to the Media Matters commentary on the book and saw the exact same verbiage ... take that for what you will.

I have the Kindle version and this is THE book about how to defeat the disarming of America. It's common sense.. not some irrational new doctrine. Borrow a friend's copy if you're on the fence about purchasing it, but definitely take the time to read this book.

Breezed through this one and it is exceptional. Well reasoned and filled with insight about the divide between America's history and heritage with firearms and those who want to take them away.

I have been listening to Dana since she first went of the air. I love her, her approach, her bluntness, her NON PC attitude. How she takes all her hate mail and throws it back in the face of those silly enought to give it to her. This book is an excelent read on gun facts. The book reads very smoothly, very flowing. Many books feel disjointed. Jumping from one unrelated subject to another, or one fact or bit of data to another without puting that information in to an everyday context that people can relate to, something that is so very important if the information is going to be understood by the largest majority of the people. Dana does this. She gives the information, the proof, yah know that thing liberals hate to address. And then gives examples to explain where and how it is relavent.
If I could give this book a higher rateing I would.
Also, Dana you have got to be one of the most attractive women today. You are beautiful both inside and out. Your husband is a very lucky man. God bless you and your family and please keep up your great work.
