Top Customer Reviews
Was very comfortable for the first month or so
Looks nice and the microfiber cover is very easy to clean with just a wet cloth (and can be removed if you want to throw it in the wash although I have not done so yet)
Pretty easy to put together
Extremely simple to convert into a bed. Other convertible couches I've used were very difficult to pull out and then fold back up, but this is easier than even many futons. You can also customize the angle of the backrest.
Padding wears away VERY quickly - I have had this couch for only about 6 months and the padding is completely worn away where people usually sit and you're left sitting on bare springs. It is pretty much unusable now unless you put blankets or cushions over the springs.
Other than the cushion issue the frame itself seems durable and it is very convenient for sleeping. I am going to try to put a memory foam mattress topper over the springs to see if that holds up better than the cheap foam it ships with, but this step should not be necessary for a 6 month old couch. Overall I regret buying this couch.
If you intend to use this for everyday use, you will probably do 2 things. 1) pay for memory foam and a quilt to keep over it at all times. 2) replace it within a year, because your back & joints can only handle so much.(and that's coming from someone in their 20's)
Assembly 5 Stars (easy, good instructions, no tools)
Quality 3 Stars (it's cheap fabric, and the hinging mechanism is functional, but looks like it could get out of whack easily)
Cost 4 Stars (certainly worth the cost)
Comfort 3 Stars...with a but!
The thing is this. The mattress it ships with is this horrible spring monstrosity...2 stars, and there is a little padding on top...plus two questionable pillows....BUT this is designed so the mattresses zip in and out. I bought two pieces of memory foam cut to 21"x71"x3" and some support foam cut to 21"x71"x4" and unzipped the pockets, removed the spring mattresses, and inserted the memory foam and support foam (such that when sat upon, the memory foam is on top). It totally changes the character of this couch.
I admit I have some concern that the hinge mechanism might not be ready for the added weight....but by being careful in the conversion and doing the lifting, I minimize the stress on the hinge.
Otherwise it's a great couch, very comfortable to sleep in it too. Good bang for the buck.
