Product Description

A to z minerals- a complete organic fertilizer a source of minerals and trace elements Azomite is the name of a special rock in UTAH. Early this century geological prospector rolling Anderson found deposits of Montmorillonite clay in a valley south of salt lake city. U.s. Bureau of mines analysis showed the clay is similar to Chilean/Peruvian caliche rocks from which much of the world's nitrate was mined. Anderson ground Montmorillonite as fine as possible, then put it in his garden. Results were amazing and nearly immediate. Minerals in Azomite are necessary to optimal metabolism in living things. Ground to dust, minerals are small enough to pass through cell walls of organisms.

I started using Azomite 2 years ago. First I purchased a small 2 lb bag to run my own experiments with. I'm a very skeptical person, so I was not about to spend money on a 44 lb bag until I knew it worked as claimed. My experiment was with 4 tomato plants in seperate pots. All of the plants where grown from seed and given the same treatment as far as sunlight and water. Actually they were grown side by side. The first pot recieved plain dirt, the second, dirt and compost, the third, dirt and azomite and the fourth, dirt, azomite and compost. After the growing season, I was totally convinced that the Azomite made not only a difference, but an amzaing difference in growth, health, production and ability to bounce back after the horn worms found them. The plant with plain dirt did not even survive the horn worms, much less bounce back. Last year I purchased a big bag from 7 Springs Farm and put it on everything that I planted with great results. BTW 7 springs farm has the best price on Azomite that I could find anywhere. $20 per 44 lb bag plus $30 shipping I think it was.

In this review I will cover my personal experience with this product, some application tips, safety tips, and where to buy azomite for cheap.

disclaimer: I am not a gardening expert or a scientist; I'm just a homeowner so my experience might not passed the burden of scientific scrutiny.

notes: Please see my images for some comparison and contrast shots.

Bottom Line Up Front: Amazing results. Night and day difference. Product worth every penny.

Background: I bought my house 2 yrs ago in 2011. I have 4 crape myrtle trees on my property. 3 of the trees in the front yard were dead due to the Oklahoma draught/heat of 2011. These three trees had no leaves and the branches were so dry that it would snapped off. The remaining crape myrtle managed to survive because it was located next to the house which protected this tree from direct sunlight and the sizzling winds.

In the spring of 2012, I wanted to replace my 3 dead crape myrtle trees but after realizing that the replacement trees were around $200-300 I decided I would try to revived the trees instead. I know that crape myrtle are very resilient and I hoped that the roots were still alive despite of the dead trunk/branches. So with that hope, I started to cut/removed the dead branches/trunk. I watered the trees every day and I decided to apply some plant/tree/shrub fertilizer and azomite to the crape myrtle.

On the two trees, I just applied some generic plant/tree/shrub food/fertilizer and on the other tree I applied the same tree food/fertilizer but I also added some azomite. The surviving crape myrtle next to my house did not receive any plant food or azomite.

A few months later I noticed the new branches were growing from my three "dead" trees.

I use this in conjunction with Bloodmeal and Bonemeal and the combination makes my vegetables taste better than store bought stuff. Azomite is also good for rescueing depleted soils and diseased plants. My pine trees came back for chemical induced Pine Blight. My old neighbor liked to have ChemLawn TruGreen spray her entire yard and the blow off messed up all my trees. She no longer lives there and my new neighbors don't use that company.

This product adds essential minerals to the soil to help plants grow and even can be used for gardens. This is used by many of our friends that have organic gardens. It makes the food, highly nutritionally dense. It was used for our outdoor plants and noticed a difference.

A detailed soil test (care of Wallace Labs in El Segundo, CA) showed that my orchard and gardens were very depleted of trace minerals, although happily low in toxic items like lead. I ordered Azomite to help replenish the soil for *my* health, but in the growing seasons since using the product I have noticed that my plants are more vigorous and pest resistant.

One would not want to overuse this product since many of these minerals are toxic in large quantities, but used in conjunction with accurate soil testing it's a great addition to a gardener's arsenal.

We used to have beautiful gardens around our home, but in the last couple of years the soil had become very depleted of minerals. Commercial fertilizers didn't work. So when I found Azomite, an organic mixture of 67 trace minerals, we had to see if it would work. Once more our land is beautiful with flowers and plants. We are so very pleased. It is well worth what ever it may cost to revive our land.
We purchased ours through Amazon. Amazon always has the best of everything as well as wonderful service.

A friend had some MicroLife fertilizer and we traded a little (I gave her azomite, she gave me micro life). I grew 8 watermelons in a sq ft garden using a trellis. 4 plants on the left had micro life, 4 on the right had azomite. The ones on the right did soooo much better. The plants grew bigger and produced more fruit. The year I used it all over my whole garden it was HUGE!!!!! I'm doing it again this year but I'm really late so I don't know how it will turn out. This is great stuff!
