Buyer beware...nowhere close to “90% cotton”.

Product description at the time of purchase read “90% Cotton, 10% Polyester”. Ordered specifically because of this wording. Made sure that ‘Amazon.com’ was both the seller and shipper. Needed a heavyweight, mostly cotton if not all cotton, hooded sweatshirt. Searched Amazon specifically for these characteristics.

What arrived was a 65% Cotton, 35% polyester sweatshirt. Doesn’t also appear to be truly “heavyweight” either. What’s more is that the plastic bag had already been torn open upon arrival, indicating to me that someone bought and returned this sweatshirt specifically because of the same reason.

It’s a shame that either Amazon, Hanes, or both are allowed to outright lie on product descriptions in order to sell their products. It has soured me on both brands, and I will be returning this and looking elsewhere for what I need.

I gave two stars because the hoodie did not match the description/quality as advertised. It was supposed to be 90% cotton / 10% polyester, but mine is only 50/50. Also this hoodie is far from heavyweight, it is like two t-shirts thick. Despite the fraud, I really like this hoodie and it is great for late-winter, early-spring weather like 55°F-70°F. I'm a girl, 165lb, 5'5, and got a size small in the light blue. It is mostly thin, and is slightly baggier/looser than expected, but still a great fit. I still recommend this hoodie, I just wish the seller would create a separate, accurate listing for the hoodie I got so people can shop in peace, or send the actual product they're advertising.

I purchased this hoodie relying on it's name "Hanes" with Good Faith for my 15 yr. old. I placed an order for 6 "Hanes" Ultimate Cotton Heavyweight Hoodie Sweatshirts in different colors one of them from this Seller. Huge mistake! I ordered from what used to be Reputable Manufacturer "Hanes" , instead I received a thin, scratchy,lightweight, poor quality hoodie with "Hanes" label attached.
Very disappointed. I will Never order "Hanes product online ". What made it even Worse was this Seller's Return Policy, You Pay For RETURN SHIPPINGS. I WILL NEVER PLACE ANOTHER ORDER FROM THIS SELLER. More Added Disappointments:((

Not 90/10, but 65/35.
I had initially purchased 2 directly from Hane's, Charcoal Heather and Deep Royal. DD's friend kidnapped her Charcoal Heather, so I looked at the Deep Royal's label and saw it was 90/10, so I figured I'd simply order from Amazon. When I received this package today, I went straight to the label and it says 65/35. Well, strangely enough, the original Charcoal Heather was also 65/35 (as per the kidnapper), which Hane's had sent, so I decided to keep this Amazon 65/35, since it matched the original exactly to DD's liking.

BUT in reality, it isn't labelled/sold to the specifications, which might upset cotton lovers, like myself.

EDIT:
From the Hane's website, in the comments section, I found 2 replies that had this information, which seems quite valuable, which Hane's themselves do not provide in the item description:
" FABRIC: 90% CTN/10% POLY 10 OZ. EXCEPT FOR LIGHT STEEL WHICH IS 85% CTN/15% POLY, & CHARCOAL HEATHER WHICH IS 65% CTN/35% POLY. OXFORD GREY:65CTN/35POLY ".
Both Hane's and Amazon should really provide this information...

Poorly made, has poor fit

So, I usually wash my clothes before I wear them to get rid of the chemical smell, excess dyes and such. But I decided to wear this one right from the package. The fabric is somewhat thick, and the color is uniform. However the bottom portion of the sweater is loose and fits like the bottom of a bell. The elastic down there is useless.

I figured a wash might help since the fabric was stiff, kind of like when you put starch on something. So I washed it, per the instructions on the tag, in a fairly modern, fairly expensive,Whirlpool washer and dryer combo aaannnnndddd it git even worse. Not only is the bottom still loose and has a bell shape to it, but now its too short and without a long enough shirt underneath, skin is easily visible lol.

I know the price was good, but it is basically useless right out of the bag, and didn't even survive a properly performed wash.

Do not recommend.

If you are looking to stay warm, or even wear this as a jacket on cold days, this is perfect for that. This is NOT to be confused as a winter jacket but it's warm enough to use as one during a sunny Winter day. It has layers of fabric that feels very heavy weighted and cozy (like a bear-hug).... it's heavy. I would recommend this for someone who wants something 3x heavier than what Walmart or Target sells for Hanes hoodies. This is the hoodie you've been looking for or didn't think they would make this thick/heavy-weight. This will also save you money on your heating bill because this will keep you warm and probably may be too hot to sleep in. When they say heavyweight they mean heavyweight.... this can't be an item that stays in stock... I would grab it.

Overall this hoodie is GREAT! I prefer men's hoodies for the loose fit without being obnoxiously baggie. This one has a soft but very durable feel. I would consider the inside like a micro/fine fleece, where the outside is almost a sweatshirt type material, but smooth and nicer. Ordered it to fit large on purpose. The neckline wasn't snug going over the head and when wearing it it's perfect. Love the long sleeves! The hood is okay but I prefer them bigger. Sits about tunic length on me. (I'm 5'5" average build.)

I bought this for my boyfriend because he doesn't like big logos and words on his hoodies and this was perfect. He's 6'2" and quite skinny. The length is pretty much perfect but it is quite wide for him. He still really loves it as a cosy fit. It doesn't look TOO big but it's just a bit on the larger side. The material on the inside is very soft and it keeps you warm on colder days. He's washed and dried it multiple times and I think it shrunk just a bit because it looks better now. The colour is exactly as it is in the picture and the pockets are a great size. Quality is also good.

Ridiculously comfortable! Like really really comfy. Warm as hell too! Thick material. Feels like it'll last a while.

Ordered a large because I fall between medium and large, but after reading the reviews, I got the impression to order a size larger. I guess I read the reviews from folks that fall between a large and XL. When it arrived, it was HUUUGE. My wife said I look like those people who wear those flying squirrel suits when I hold out my arms.

So I washed it with the purpose of shrinking it. It's still a little big in the mid section and the sleeves are slightly bigger than I'd like, but only slightly. So I'm still happy with it. But that being said, watch out, these shrink up real good!

I WILL be ordering more, this time I'm going to get a medium and just make sure that I hang dry after washing for the first several washes to lock in the size.

Anyways, If you're a small, get a small, if you're a medium, GET A MEDIUM! and so on... These are true to size...not some stupid Chinese sizing for little people on the other side of the planet, but North American people who need North American sizes.
