About the Author
Jennette Marie Powell writes time travel and paranormal romance. A lifelong resident of the Dayton, Ohio area, she likes to dig beneath the surface and find the extraordinary beneath the mundane, whether in people, places, or historical events. While she has no desire to change the past, she enjoys learning about local history, though her preferred places to time travel are from her computer or museums. By day, she wrangles data and websites in between excursions to search for the aliens and spacecraft that legends say are stashed away on the military base where she works. Jennette lives with her husband, daughter, two Rottweilers, and assorted small critters. When not working or writing, she enjoys spending time with her family, learning about local history, classic cars, and cruising in her Camaro. I read pretty much all genre and sub-genre books. I must admit, though, that I don't read or enjoy many in the Romance genre, which is just too formula driven for my taste. And...for a Romance book, this one is improbable - from beginning to end both Lisa and Adam are filled with self-doubt and recriminations, carrying their own personal baggage that was never fully justified in either case. These characters did not grow or change as a result of their ordeal. Oh, sure, boy and girl rode off into the sunset at the end, but this genre wouldn't have it any other way, would it? They were essentially the same people they were when the book started.
Maybe it is just me - the story had a good premise - it just didn't get the treatment it deserved. Perhaps folks who read only Romance novels would enjoy this. I could not recommend it.
NOTE: There are quite a few errors (typos?) in this book - not sure if there was a proofreading or conversion problem.
Psychic Air Force office and researcher Adam Keller is fascinating. He inherited from his grandfather the gift of "The Sight" that puts him in touch with a defrosting, angry alien hidden away beneath Wright Patterson AFB. In order to get to the alien he must break some rules.
Programmer Lisa Stark is working on subliminal messaging software helps and has her own issues to deal with, especially when some bad men try to steal her program. Adam unravels the truth and becomes her HEA.
The alien, who keeps given Adam a headache, even has some character to him as well.
The twists and turns will surprise you and keep your reading.
