Prefer these to the General Grabber AT2
To soon for five stars, to good for three stars.Put a pair of these on the front of my 2000 Suburban daily driver and plow truck. They balanced without a crazy weight, drive without vibration and drive true.I plow about 10 driveways in Rural Maine, a couple of these are 1/4 mile long, three of them are 200 - 300 yards with quite a steep incline/decline and turns while plowing. These tires grip much better than I thought they would.I previously had General Grabber AT2 Load Range E that only had about 6k miles on all four wheels, a catastrophic sidewall injury rendered one tire useless. I decided to go with these based on price and reviews. Changed both tires on the front axle, used the remaining (almost new) General for a new spare.IMHO the Hankook bite and dig into the snow better than the Grabbers. I've also noticed less floating or drift while driving on snow covered roads. I didn't expect this to be the case since the tread seems to be less aggressive than the Grabbers.A couple of years ago I switched from BFG's to Grabbers and found myself wishing that I hadn't. Particularly, the Grabbers don't bite and "Grab-er" (haha) until they start to slide or spin causing a lot of compacting snow and "floating" on the top of the snow while driving. From this experience the BFG's and the Hankooks seem to cut into snow and provide more traction during both normal operation and when called upon to do their job, which is for me plowing, well.... staying on the road also. This isn't a "Grabber" bashing, just my experience. Based on the looks of the tread, high price, and stellar reviews, I expected a better experience with Grabbers. For my money and my purposes, at this point, the Hankook is a better tire (for me) then the Grabber AT2. I'll have to put the BFG A/T just a notch better then this Hankook model, but for the price difference I'd go with these over the BFG's, that's just how close they are.Sorry for the long winded review, but this is just the information I was looking for when shopping for tires.Hope this helps.First pic: The dirty beastSecond pic: Hankook DynaProThird pic: General Grabber AT2

I bought these tires for my 2013 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab Pre-Runner w/ Off-Road Package. My original tires from the factory were the BFGoodrich Rugged Trail T/A All-Terrain Radial Tire - P265/70R16 111T (Model #: 73986) and had exactly 45,007 miles on them and were pretty bald. I researched a comparable tire and ran across this Hankook tire. It offered the same durability and the UTQG rating for these tires is 560AB.

The tires look great on the truck and I think they look a bit more aggressive than my original tires without the road noise. The traction on these are great and I think they meet or exceed my original tires in quality and comfort. These were also $50 cheaper (per tire) than the BFGoodrich. I uploaded several images of the tires both on and off my vehicle as well as the sticker of the tire specs.

I primarily do highway driving, some city, and very light off-road (very mild trails or when I'm doing work around the property). I would say 70% highway, 20% city, and 10% "off-road".

NOTE: There are 2 different load ratings listed for this tire. The correct one is 112T. (See the image I uploaded for verification)

I'll try to remember to follow-up at a later date and after putting some miles on them.

UPDATE (05.05.2017): I have now put 5,000+ miles on these tires and ridden in various conditions. No complaints and the ride quality is still very smooth. I'm happy with the purchase so far. I plan to update later.
- Ice & Light Snow: Not even a week after mounting these tires we had a bad ice storm with light snow. The tires handled it no problem. The gripping of the road was great.
- Heavy Rain: No complaint at all with these. Compared against the BF Goodrich tires I originally had these have better traction. The BF Goodrich tended to slip causing the backend to slide. Have not experienced that at all with these.

I bought these because the price was just too low to pass up. They usually are about $50 or more per tire times 4. I pulled the trigger and ordered. The tires came just as expected based on the email updates sent by Amazon. The tires were black walls and had a DOT manufacturer date of about 20 weeks before I received them. They were manufactured in Indonesia so factoring in the travel time on a ship to the US and finally to my front door, it wasn't too bad. The main point is they weren't sitting on a shelf for 2 or 3 years. The photo in the Amazon ad also showed them being white lettering and that wasn't the case and accounts for my 4 and not a 5 star.

I made an appointment at my local Firestone dealer and they put the tires on for just a little over $100, which is what they would charge for their own tires. They provide a smooth ride and they are fairly quiet. I have a 2013 Ford F-150 with Super Crew Cab and the OEM tires were Goodyear. They were rated for 50k miles and I would have gotten that out of them but got these just a couple of hundred miles shy of 50k because I am pretty anal about tires. The Goodyear tires gave me so so MPGs and I am hoping these Hankook are better on fuel mileage.

I will update this review after I have driven on them for some time to give a more developed opinion.

Update 4.15.2016

After a couple of months, I am still very satisfied with these tires. They provide excellent traction on wet pavements and not very much noise on dry roads. There is one section on I-465 where the pavement makes any tire sing, but no so much with these tires. They have also been providing slightly better gas mileage over the Goodyear OEMs that these replaced. More updates to follow.

Update 7.1.2016

After a few more months, I am still highly satisfied. Mileage is still good and the ride quality is excellent. This is starting to look like the best tire buy of my lifetime! I have even upgraded my rating to 5 stars.

very nice tire. I payed under $500 for all 4 tires and they look very nice. They look way better in person than in pictures. They are very good tires for on the road and on "dirt road". I would not take these off road. They should be considered "all terrain" and not "off road tire."
They can handle light mud and rocky areas and loose gravel. they look very nice for the price and they are not a cheap brand. I have rode about 500 mile with them and I do not hear tire noise. This is my first set of "off road" tires and I do not think I will ever go back to regular street tires.

They fit on my GMC 2004 sierra
they do not rub and have about 2 inches of clearance when turning.
Great tire for light duty

only issue I had with the tires is that the white lettering was already coming off as soon as i drove with them. I would say use better material or do not use white letters at all.

after driving on them for about 800 miles i have discovered that if you put more air pressure in the tires than on what is recommended than on highway speeds the ride is a little rough. Keep your tire pressure on what the tire says! they are design to work a specific tire pressure! Today I had the pleasure on taking them out on a job site which was full of loose gravel and mud. The tires were excellent and made the trip across the job site a breeze and smooth.

Had them on for a few weeks and they do well. I put them on my 2007 Toyota Tundra (5.7 TRD) which has 11yrs/230K miles on it. As a daily highway driver, this truck has never done a day of work it its life so I can only tell you about on-road use. Having run Michelin LTX's on every full size truck that I've owned since 2000, I've gotten used to a well-mannered road tire. These do well. A bit noisier than the Michelins for sure but no regrets. They're clearly a bit more of an aggressive tread pattern so I expect to see improved snow/ice traction.

I'll update this after they've been on for a while. I was hesitant to switch brands and especially concerned about how the black sidewalls would affect the appearance since I've had white letters for a decade. Looks good.

Update 6/22/2021 - 30K later these tires still look and drive good. No regrets! Love them!
