Overall I'm happy with this product and recommend this to anyone replacing an older unit.
It is a diaphragm pump that uses a solenoid to move the diaphragm. The adjustment simply changes the frequency of how often the solenoid is pulsed.
In early February this winter it failed. It got very erratic and at times would not pump at all. Since it was out of warranty and repair was as much as a new one, I ordered a new one from Amazon. It showed signs of the same problem almost immediately. It ran useably for about 2 weeks, then stopped. Fortunately we are at the end of the heating season. But it is a total failure.
It seems like a great little pump for the price but Hanna is having problems with quality control or durability of the electronics because this one is getting returned for a refund. I'm in the market this summer for a different brand.
The motor noise indicates that it is moving, howevery the water just don't move

Check valve leaking, dispenses product while NOT operating. The pump is otherwise working properly.
