The psychological aspects to the story are difficult to read. If you have, or know anyone with PTSD, these are the parts that are difficult to read because James lays it out there in a way that’s believable—everything from disbelief of family members to masochistic tendencies in order to feel (maintain a sense of control). All of the small and big nuggets she lays out there are not only plausible, but are very much in line with reality (as in, I’ve known people who struggle with these things).
And yes, warning, there are BDSM elements. It fits the story. Deal with it. If it bothers you, move on and don’t order a copy. But…But…if you want to read a gripping story that crazily does have a happy ending, then give this a chance. It’s rough. It’s painful. You won’t like aspects of it. But it’s good. It really is. (And if you read my other reviews, I don’t say that very often.)
I love it..Hansel and Gretel..Leah and Lucas..
What happens when they meet again after ten years?
We get flashbacks from the past and we see what they became in the present..even though not everything is what it seems!
Ohhh..Leah has a mask..Lucas doesn't realize who she really is..until he does..
we get to see Lucas's past..wow..effed up..and damn if I'm not curious for more..
Leah is waiting for Lucas to come to term with this, with her..but what will he do?
It's going to be so bad..I can feel it!
Hansel and Gretel back in mother's house..can't even think about it..
Hansel tries to get rid of Gretel..but he can't..she's stubborn and he can't decide what to do with himself..
The end was...arggg...everything came perfectly together!!! Epic and mysterious and hot as hell!
Sure there was dungeons and a wicked witch and a king and Queen, but in reality they were real people who were put in charge of the lives of young people and determined their life in the future, whether it was bad or good or hideous. In Luke and Leah's case down right awful and a child in this world should never go through life with what they had to endure and yet it's happening in real life even as I type out this review and it's absolutely sad.
I have to admit I wasn't fond of the story line but the message and reality what actually does happen when a child is taken is harsh and sad. And though these two people found solace in each other the likelihood that actually happens is rare. Mrs. James did a great job in writing this story and making us feel the story, though sad and very adult written. I did feel the ending left me short and definitely wanting more which she has promised in a news letter so I will wait for that.
I WANT TO WRITE MY ENTIRE REVIEW IN CAPS. I want to beat up my couch cushions. I want to throw something on the ground so it breaks and then run around in circles.
HOW DO I EXPRESS MY EMOTIONS?!?!?!?
I loved the characters. I loved their messed up back stories.
And guess what else? The sex was HOT. Every. Single. Scene. And there was just the right amount.
Yes, there was a ton of errors, both of the grammar and formatting variety. But the story was so good I didn't even care. A lot of the story took place in Las Vegas and I'm not even going to criticize how long the author thinks it takes to get to the airport from the Strip.
The ending was a bit cheesy, just the way I like. I don't know what else to say except, if you like dark reads but also romance, GO READ THIS.

This is a very dark BDSM story. It's too dark for my tastes. I couldn't get past the first 100 pages.Published 5 months ago by Sheila-Andy
I tried, I really did and while I am still very intrigued by where this story is going, I'm not sinking anymore money into this series. $2. Read morePublished 6 months ago by I'm Just Babbling About Books Blog - Tara Santiago
