I'm glad this doesn't happen to me. Very well written story of two sisters taking a road trip to what used to be Vegas. Dark and eerie with a nice punch of emotion and some good social commentary. I had a really good time reading this one. Wilson is a dark force to be reckoned with.

Two young sisters head off to what used to be Sin City...and that turns out to be a gamble neither were prepared for! Well written, vividly descriptive and evil....don't miss this author!

I started reading this book with anticipation. I had read Shining in Crimson: Empire of Blood Book One and thoroughly enjoyed it.

This story takes place in the same vein as SiC. It's about two sisters, Jakie and Karen. Jakie decides to take Karen for a drive, but it's a surprise. The surprise turns out to be on Jakie.

A good prelude to the Shining in Crimson novel, but don't expect it to be about the same topic. Think of it more as a separate story told in the same world.

Two sisters go out to visit Necropolis, formally Vegas. The oldest just plans to scare her little sister and maybe find some valuable old currency. They should be in and out before nightfall, or so they thought.

This is a good short story that is fairly well written. It is certainly enjoyable.

It is not very often that I think the characters I don't like really get whats coming to them. It is nice to read a story where that happens. I found myself really disliking Jackie by the middle of the story. Wow, was I happy with the way she got her's in the end! Its worth it just for that and I am so looking forward to more.

What a creepy and disturbing work of art. I really enjoyed the post apocalyptic world of Necropolis nee Las Vegas that Wilson created. It was eerie to read about this world he whipped up full of vampires that reminded me in a way of Richard Matheson's monsters, until we met the sentient one. I can't wait to read it again.

I read this short in one sitting, and found it to be well-written and well-plotted.
The characters are believable, and the dialogue is crisp and realistic. The suspension of disbelief is easy to reach, considering the world this is set in.
I'm very interested in reading Shining in Crimson, the novel that this short story is set around.Shining in Crimson: Empire of Blood Book One
Check it out for the small price it costs, and you will likely not regret it.

What Happens in Vegas is a good beginning to the series. It gives you a good idea of what to expect from the book. This short story came with the first 6 chapters of the first book. The city of Necropolis definitely has me intrigued. I like how it goes back and forth between the characters to bring the story together but so far the book seems nothing like the short story. I don't expect to see the two girls from the short story in the books but as I said it was a good lead in as what to expect from the book.
