My baby cried from 10am-10pm everyday. We tried every wive's tale out there. Here is the secret formula that helped us:
1) Happi Tummi (only heat it for 20 sec)
2) Hyland's Colic Tablets (very cheap and work WONDERS!)
3) Mylicon drops
4) Gripe Water
5) Fisher-Price Baby Wellness "No More Crying" CD (odd--but it worked!)

Bless your heart if you are dealing with colic right now. It will be over soon and all will be MUCH better!

I think this is a pretty good product. Its definitely worth a try with a gassy baby. We are using Dr. Browns bottles, Hylands colic tablets and this band to help with our son's gas pains. The combination is helping most of the time. I just need to make a comment about the NICU nurse and mother of 4 who said that this product gave her baby a second degree burn, this wouldn't have happened if you placed the product over the baby's onesie or sleeper. The picture on the box demonstrates how to put it on. I am also a former NICU nurse. Common sense helps a lot to prevent these things. This is probably why we need warning labels on almost every product! Use common sense and you will probably find this product fairly helpful!

This product works. It takes a few minutes for it to sink in, i tried it across my stomach 1st, BE CAREFUL TO NOT OVER WARM it gets warmer the longer it stays on initially, then cools off over time. My newborn grandson seemed to do best with it over his belly button area. It did us best to put baby on his tummy on mine or my daughters tummy, lay band in btwn us and baby or put his back to us and lay band across front of his tummy. We tried not to fasten band unless he was away from us, was afraid pressure from band closed might put more pressure on his tummy, but he seemed to do ok when fastened. Ive had 5 children, 5 grandbabies so far, I was a nurse, im a little experienced at this. If you are reading this while holding a crying, colicky baby right now, bless baby's heart and yours! A warm wet soft washcloth with a touch of lavender baby wash 1st, it helps soothe baby for us and then the happy tummy band 2nd, and some gentle massage on baby's middle to lower back, down towards the legs, massage down not in circles or upward, & gently pull knees up towards tummy, can help expel some pressure in baby's tummy and as much snuggling as possible can help give both parent and baby some relief and quiet time to rest.If bottle feeding, be sure to use a bottle designed to help with colic. happy tummi makes a nice one. i have lupus which can cause the same type stomach pain as colic, it is very painful, no wonder the babies cry. For myself, i find that being still, pulling my knees towards my chest & warm heat helps and some gentle rocking motion and massage, is soothing, so i think it can help baby as well. Hope this helps good luck!

I have a beautiful 4 month old baby who has reflux and is, generally, what Dr Sears would term a "high needs baby" (see The Fussy Baby Book: Parenting Your High-Need Child From Birth to Age Five). He has tummy pains, cries a lot and seldom sleeps. After reading the plethora of positive reviews, although skeptical, I purchased two of these Happi Tummis, figuring "it can't hurt to try". I am pleasantly surprised that this product actually works the majority of the time and often almost immediately. It soothes my baby's tummy and he stops crying so hard. It's the middle of summer in Australia at the moment and the heat of this pack this does not seem to bother my usually "fussy" baby. The padded waistband is adjustable which is great because my baby is still small (he was premature) and it actually stays in place. The insert has a pleasant smell and heats up easily in the microwave after the recommended 20 seconds. My only disappointment is that the insert does not stay warm for very long and I have to reheat it frequently (although it's usually soothed his tummy the first or second heating).

The second Happi Tummi I bought for a friend who has a baby the same age with similar tummy issues. She has also said positive things about it for her little girl.

Overall, I would definitely recommend trying this product if you have a baby who has tummy pains from colic or reflux.

I love this idea and it can provide some much needed relief to a baby's hard painful belly. It is basically like a warming compression wrap. I didn't find the herbal aspect of the belly wrap that helpful, which means I am OK reusing the original pack and will save money on the expensive refills. It definitely is not a magic cure all, but it is great when it does help!

My son didn't really care for this. He didn't "dislike" it, but it didn't really seem to help either. Usually it was used in conjunction with the colic tabs/gas drops/gripe water. I do really love the way it smells though. Very calming, which when your baby is screaming nonstop, comines in handy!

I admit. I was highly skeptical that this would work. But we were willing to try anything to ease the gas pains of our now 3 month old. Even though he is breastfed he is extremely gassy and the pain always wakes him up exactly 2 hours from whenever he last ate--groaning, crying, and flailing legs all follow, and we are all thrilled at his relief if he is able to get some gas out, but usually it's just constant pain.

We tried simethicone drops, made it worse. Gripe Water, did nothing. Tummy massages, burping every 5 minutes while nursing...Finally found this thing and decided it was worth a shot.

Oh. My. Gosh. Happy tears. IT WORKS! I'm not sure if it's the heat, or the slight weight of it, or the herbs, but it has helped him so much. We still burp him often, put this on when he goes down for a nap and he's out! We then transfer him to his bouncer ( found that being upright helps) right before the 2 hr mark and he sleeps relatively pain free til his next feeding! So thankful I gave this a try!
