So, lately, whenever my fingers have twitched for FaceBook and/or Twitter, I have opened this book to a random page and I have enjoyed a creative mental and emotional ride using my own imagination.
The great quotations and whimsical illustrations complement the book's text nicely.
I bought another copy for my wife.
The author, Ellen Petry Leanse, lays out the neuroscience in a way that's easily digestible and actionable for me, and my friends who are now reading it. It's rare to find a book based on science and everyday life that makes "training the brain" extremely relatable. I can already tell I'll be buying more copies to give to the people in my world who matter most.
As a parent, I wish for my children to be kind to themselves, moderate the demands of work/technologies to make more room for people, and to practice being intentional and mindful on their purpose - all of which will help create the possibility of deeper happiness and joy. The thoughts in this book will help them gain a better understanding of their purpose.
This is a very helpful guide!
