Moldy flavor

I buy these pouches at my local grocery for my kids and they are always great. However, I purchased a box of these from Amazon and they taste moldy. My baby actually ate two of these pouches, but then my toddler said her pouch tasted funny, so I tried it. Mold flavor! I opened another pouch and tried it, same thing. Its not expired, but something is definitely wrong. Very Disappointing!

I was excited to try this option after the last subscribe and save order of Plum Organics Stage 2 came already expired. My daughter had loved the other company, but from accidentally consuming the expired product, she will no longer try them. (She is two and recognizes the labels.) Sadly, only one of the four flavors will she eat. She doesn't seem to enjoy the other ones and she plays around with the pouches instead, making a mess.

First of all, I love the brand happy baby. The ingredients are usually organic. I have this on subscribe and save and they usually come in two little manufacturer's boxes with 8 punches in each. This time they just came loose in one amazon box, one of them had food on the cap. Although it didn't look like any of the punches were contaminated, I am not quiet comfortable feeding my baby this batch...

Of all the variety of pouched food, my kids love the Bananas, Beets & Blueberries the most. Currently they are aged 1-5 and will all suck these down whenever given the opportunity. My one year old will dig through the pouch bin until she finds those purple tops. Don't know what magic they put in these. Maybe the Bananas, Beets & Blueberries lean more heavy on the fruit and have a bit more natural sugar.

Update: Runny Consistency Good on the Go!

My daughter loves this (as well as every other Happy Baby food she has tried)! The only reason I docked a star is because the consistency is thin. I normally mix all of her Stage 2 foods with cereal, so it's not a big deal for us. However, if your baby eats this straight, try one of the various "squeezie" spoons on the market. It is too runny to use a traditional spoon.

Update:

I changed my rating to five stars. Yes, it's still a bit runny. However, I have found this to actually be a good thing.

My daughter is almost seven months old. We were out the other day, and I had a pouch of this food in the diaper bag. I had just gotten her seated for lunch when I realized that I'd forgotten her bowl, spoon, and cereal to mix with the food. I decided to let her try to "eat" it directly from the pouch. (We both drink homemade green smoothies a lot. The consistency is similar.) It was great! She was easily able to suck it out of the pouch, with me holding the pouch, making sure that there was always food near the opening. She only spilled a tiny bit onto her bib. It also took less than five minutes for her to eat!

I am going to keep a pouch of this food in the diaper bag from now on. It's great that I don't have to worry about carting a bowl, spoon, and container of cereal anymore. However, I will continue to mix it with cereal at home.

Great food for on the go and as a condiment

My 1 yro daughter adores all the flavors of purée packs. As soon as I open the cabinet they are in she grabs a pack or two and starts sucking on the tops hoping I will open it for her. I use these mainly for when we are out of the house. We travel a lot and these are great to have in our bag to make sure she gets something good and healthy to eat. These are also great for making sure your kid gets some good food during a long plane trip. You do not really even need a spoon with this as they can just suck all the savory goodness straight out of the pack. Just make sure they do not squeeze it all over themselves when they become over zealous in getting it out or just playing with the packet. She loves the packs so much it then becomes a fun toy when it is empty.

Since she loves the flavor of the packets so much I have also used them for bribery. Sometimes she gets bored eating something, or it is not her favorite kind of food. However when I smother the food with the packet. She will go right back to eating it. I use it as a kind of a baby condiment when I am trying to get her to eat those few extra bites.

Pros: Easy to use. Great Taste. Easy to Pack. All organic.

Cons: Be careful they do not squeeze the packet all over themselves. A bit on the sweet side (but that's why they love it so much.)

Please Don't Stop Making 'Two Birds'!

Please don't stop making this product or change the packaging. My son calls this 'Two Birds' and it is one of his all-time favorite foods! (His other favorite flavor is 'One Bird', the Mango pouch.) I like the pictures on the packaging as well. It makes it easier for young ones to ask for what they would like to have.

This flavor is great, I love the fact it has veggies and fruit together. I gave this flavor to my 6 month old baby and he loved it. If you have problem with this blend being to runny I solved it by using Boon spoon or Plum organics boon spoons for pouches which made it breeze to feed the baby.
My son loves all the other flavors he tried as well ( pear; pear & peas & broccoli; apples & cherry; banana & blueberries & beats ), he did not like sweet potato & apricot flavor, it was too tart and sour for him, but I contacted Happy Baby customer service and the next batch should have more sweet potato to help with the sour taste, but if you can buy just one pack and try it you might have a baby that likes it either way.
Most of all I love the packaging, it is perfect since we travel a lot and it is so much lighter then glass jars and easier to pack as well.
