Dying is the natural conclusion to life, and these stories invite you to re‑examine your own perception of death. Most of all, they remind us that, while our time here on Earth is temporary, our spiritual existence is not. The publication of Happy Endings led to the discovery of more stories in the same vein and a second volume, More Happy Endings, containing an additional forty-five stories, followed the first. About the Author

A nurse for forty-seven years and hospice nurse since 1995, Lorna Bell’s first book, Gentle Yoga: For People with Arthritis, M.S., Strokes and Wheelchairs (coauthored with Eudora Seyfer), was motivated by her desire to help those with mobility problems. She considers herself a storyteller rather than an author, and since she’s been a hospice nurse, Lorna has wanted to help break the uncomfortable silence that often surrounds those concluding their lives.

Happy Endings “exemplifies the beautiful, hopeful side of a difficult, sad subject,” she says. “Stories like these have been kept a secret long enough.” The author lives in Dallas with her husband, Ron. They enjoy gardening, walking, photography, and visiting their four children and eight grandchildren. --This text refers to the paperback edition.

This is a well-written, compelling and very relatable memoir. I highly recommend it.

Bella delivers a no holds barred account of childhood trauma, mental illness, drug use, relationships and working in various facets of the sex industry. She has a clear, honest and powerful voice.

I could barely put this book down, yet it was depressing to finish and have the ride be over. I look forward to reading Bella's next book, whenever it may come.

Also, if you end up reading this, Bella, I've found EMDR helpful for some of my own issues that stem from trauma, and it might be worth you trying it too, if you haven't already.

Bella Green is a sex worker and a stand-up comic. So I guess it’s no surprise that this book is funny, often laugh-out-loud.

There are also chapters about very serious stuff - abuse from a stepfather, drug use, suicidal ideation, a troubled relationship with her mother, self-harm….

On both counts she is bluntly authentic, almost matter-of-fact. The account is moving, and somehow she takes the shock power out of it sufficiently for me to keep engaging with it.

It’s also quite educational. Though far from titillating, it is mind-boggling!

Bella writes very well. And there's something very endearing about her. I guess it's the authenticity. And the humour.
