This story follows a seriously twisted man who is infatuated with a woman that he doesn't really know. What follows is a tale told to us often through his point of view and occasionally from hers. This was a great story that has stuck with me even though I finished it over a month ago. The author does a great job making you feel the captives emotions of anguish, despair, hope, and finally her decent into madness. I was left feeling that just a little bit of the darkness that takes place in the story had seeped into my world. Great story that I could see being turned into a dark and creepy serial killer/stalker movie. Even though I originally got this as a free download, I will gladly pay to download the others by this same author.

A rare treat to have a book that is so well written where you get into the mind of both the victim and the captor. You see Peter and his delusions in contrast to Vanessa and her will to survive. Very fast-paced with turns that you don't expect but have huge impact, I read it in one afternoon!
You really have to read this book to appreciate the beauty of it, the subtly of it, the impact that it has.
This is one book I will be reading again!

Love the two person perspective. The book goes back and forth between Peter's and Vanessa's thought processes. Definitely a creepy concept without being overly gory. If you like horror that's more intellectual rather than slasher, you'll like this. Great twist at the end yet you're still left wondering... I think we need Matt to write a sequel.

I'm just going to leave a pretty quick to the point review about this book...... I absolutely loved it!!! From the first sentence I was hooked and didn't put it down until I was finished! I just downloaded the 2nd book but sadly I can't start it till tomorrow and I can hardly wait!! Now I will say this though I would have given 5 stars but the lack of editing drove me a little crazy thankfully the story was great so I could over look that one little issue

My rating: <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1002019485">5 of 5 stars</a>

WTF??? Ok so this book is about a crazy guy named Peter who thinks the only way he will ever have true love is if he he locks himself and a girl up alone in a house forever. Then there's Vanessa. She's the 15th girl he kidnaps and when he asks if she could love him eventually she says yes.

This book was insane. What she does....

Let's just say my mind was blown. I can't wait to read more of this series.

Just throwing this out there, this is one of those times where I really wish there was a way for kindle readers to submit typos for correction built into either the kindle app or in the options of the actual kindle (I float between my kindle keyboard, phone and tablet when reading various things).

Now onto the actual book review; in general I am a fan of horror/suspense type stories and I feel this one falls more into the suspense category. I enjoyed that for a good chunk of the story that it was from the, erm, shall we say attacker's perspective to really get an idea of just how normal a twisted situation can be to someone and the inner commentary. Over all I wasn't exceptionaly impressed with the story but I didn't hate it either. It almost felt.....incomplete, like a solid first draft but not a completley finished story.

I loved this book. The fact that it was so twisted and took "love sick" to an entirely new level infused with so much humor with the dual dialogue was something that kept it light. This is one seriously messed up guy! Yikes!

The ending? *hee hee hee* No spoiler from me, you'll just have to read it.

If you are a woman and working with the public I am fairly certain that after reading this you shall think of this book at moments over the course of your day.

I saw few typos, wondering whether British spelling might have played a factor in that review, which remarked on many misspelled words? If one is unaware of differences between American English and British/UK English, one may think some words to be misspelled when they are not.

Writing style reminiscent of Christopher Moore or Chuck Palahniuk. Had that twist & kink to it.

Overall as previously stated, I loved this. DEFINITELY a keeper! Highly recommend.
