The author, Gerald Hawksley, has written a fun book for all children. in this book, the town's people have found all their hats are wearing out. But, in a land not too far away, the Hapoy Hat Land, hats are being made mice for the entire town. What a joyous day that will be when you read this book, you will understand what kinds of hats are being made and who will make them.
Adults will enjoy reading this book to their children. Most children enjoy playing dress up, and dress up often involves hats. You can become a different person by wearing a hat. This book is written in rhyme, and it is the best method for reading to children. The illustrations are bright, vivid and colorful, and they depict the adventures of the people making and wearing hats. A fun time for all.

The rhymes are sometimes forced and the story stretches out a bit too far, but the illustrations are cute and colorful. The alliteration makes the read aloud more fun. Recommended for preschoolers.
