What I loved: The book is beautifully illustrated with plenty of fun llamas on every page. The text is brief, making it great for short attention spans, and the rhyming nature of the poem makes it fun to read and listen to. The holiday is really celebrated in a fun way, and it is great to see holiday books about Hanukkah. The back matter also includes extra details about the holiday that make this an educational read for those not already familiar with the holiday.
Final verdict: A delightful and joyous read about Hanukkah, HAPPY LLAMAKKAH! is a charming picture book that will appeal to young readers of many ages with its short and rhyming text, adorable llama family, and educational back matter.
Please note that I received an ARC. All opinions are my own.
Happy Llamakkah is irresistible with it's simple rhyme and colorful illustrations. And, who doesn't love llamas celebrating Llamakkah! Kids will get a kick out of it.
There's an author's note on the last two pages which gives detailed descriptions about the actual holiday, Hanukkah, and talks about it's customs.
