this belt is a great value. it is well made and i do not think you can do better for the money. i have a 38 inch waist and i purchased the XL size and it fits very well. the large would be too small. i use this belt for lifting weights, air conditioners and when i shovel snow. it is very supportive and comfortable.

Love it!!

Verified Purchase

I ordered this belt for 2 reasons.
1. I needed a belt that had more adjustability than a standard buckled belt (my waist size always seemed to fall in between buckle sizes)
2. I wanted a belt I could use when I did deadlifts. (Some belts are too wide for this)

This does both. Not too wide so I can both squat and deadlift and is fully adjustable to be as tight as I need it.

I didn't rate this 5 stars because my only complaint is that the metal buckle portion, if you even the belt around your waist, ends up right above your thigh. This is very uncomfortable when doing deep squats as it digs into your leg and stomach. Not a huge deal as there is plenty of belt where you just wear it a bit askew around your waist.

FYI, I have a 33" waist and the medium fits very nicely.

Great purchase and great price!!!

Velcro wore out after ~5-6 Months of Use

I loved this belt and it was comfortable for Squats, Deadlifts, Cleans, and Presses. However, after 5-6 months the belt was consistently popping off and the velcro was unlatching. I emailed Harbinger and they said the product only comes with a 90 day warranty. It was less than $20 bucks, but I expected it to last longer.

Not the same

I own the XL in this belt that I bought at Dick's a few years ago. I used this belt at least three times per week, and it still holds up like brand new. Recently, I had to buy the large, as I have lost some weight since then. Sadly, the strength of the Velcro is not as strong, and I can feel the belt loosen during my heavy sets. This can have an effect on the lifts resulting in missing a rep (or two). Still gets three stars as it is very comfortable.

Runs small…

…and if, like me, you took up weight training to eliminate that gut, you will find yourself oozing over the snugly fitting belt. When following the sizing chart, if you are at the upper end of the range, the padded section will not meet in the front of your girth. Expect to be pinched by the velcro strap.

Sizing is too small.

Ordered this belt in a large. I have a 34 inch waist and the belt doesn't completely wrap around with a gap in the front. I like my belts to completely wrap around however there is about 4 inches of a gap between the ends of the belt with the velcro strap being the stabilizer in the front. The belt is good quality, just not good in terms of design or sizing. I much prefer my MRX belt which I bought in a medium and it wraps completely around.

Easy to Adjust and use daily.

Being a gym fanatic this belt was the only go to for me. It is easy to adjust and fits and gets tight quickly. No messing with loops or prongs. The velcro is strong for what I need it for and is still holding up after much abuse. I personally use it for back support and for semi heavy lifts. This probably isn't something you should use if you are trying to break any PR's but it does the job when you lift weights for exercise and not at a competition. I can easily wear this belt for a 2 hour gym sesh without it digging into my ribs or my waist when I bend over to pick up other weights. It does start a little stiff but can be broken in pretty quickly when used frequently. I would totally buy this item again if this one ever broke or if I lost it. Which i'm sure most of us gym goers have.

I used for "Post, post" back surgery support...

I purchased this to wear after back surgery. I was furnished a big bulky back brace to wear for the first 12 weeks. After I was cleared to go without that brace, I used this for a while till my back got stronger. Having it on helped me remember to 'lift smartly' it just gave me a little more support. I did get my Dr's approval before using this belt... I would suggest anyone considering using it for post surgery wear, consult with their doctor first.
