Cheap, but WAY too much dye!

Ok, well, I don't normally like writing bad reviews, but I've been using Harbinger gloves for my workouts for nearly 10 years now, and this new design is a major step backwards.

First, the design of the velcro straps, while cooler-looking, is less comfortable and more difficult to use than the old style where each side was the same and they fit together naturally. This new style, you have to pull one side over to the other, and it feels like it pinches a little if you're pulling it tight enough to be secure.

Second, and MOST annoying, is the amount of black dye they use in the leather! Every time I work out I rinse out the sweat from the gloves, and the water comes out black. MONTHS after I bought them, they still stain my hands with black. This has actually been a problem with these Harbinger gloves since the beginning, but I feel like this new style is even worse! I soaked them in my sink with some laundry detergent for a couple hours to try and get the excess dye out, and when I came back to the sink the water was black, and even after that, they still stain my hands when I work out! So annoying. If anyone has suggestions of gloves that don't do this, I'm all ears.

Bought these for my 16 year old son who works out like a fiend. When I decided to buy these gloves I was looking for quality, design and price.
I choose these because for the price range these looked the best and the quality seemed good. When I got them, my first impression was that they seem sturdy, at least the front side. The front side is made of the leather, which protects your hands very well when you are working out. The back side is made of mesh like material so that your hands can breath while working out and they dont get sweaty. My son uses them daily for about an hour or more, and they are still going strong and I have even throwed them in the washer. They have not torn or been damaged to date.

so far they seem ok. I had a pair from the same brand (different model) and they last almost 5 years (I had to repair some holes from the use, but that's normal) and of course it's really nice having that feeling of new even the smell from toxic materials is nice lol. I'll keep you update.

They broke after 2 days use. the glove isn't sewn it is glued with poor quaility glue i guess. They're ripping apart already. #sad #dissapointed #shame #reimbursementneeded

I'm updating my review of these gloves....Initially they were awesome, but within 5 months they started breaking down, and now at 8 months they're pretty much falling apart, and I have to buy new gloves. I lift weights pretty much everyday and I have for 30 years, but I don't do anything severe like crossfit training, so there's no reason a pair of gloves should start to fall apart after 5 months. I've owned numerous pairs of workout gloves and they all eventually breakdown, but none have fallen apart this quickly and this severely! I would definitely not recommend purchasing these if you are a serious weight lifter. I'm hugely disappointed with these gloves!!!
The only reason I gave them 1 star, is because initially they were an awesome fit, very comfortable, and did exactly what I wanted them to do, but to fall apart within 5 months is brutal and obviously poorly made!

These gloves are awesome. I bought some back in 2010 on Amazon, lost them somewhere last month 02/2017, maybe in the gym... went back on my account did a search and found them again. So I used mu old ones for 7 years, 5 days a week in the gym and they surivived... now I have a new pair. Perfect fit great quality for the price.

So I've been using these gloves since about April. They are comfortable and provide just enough support and padding without hindering the wrist. The grip for metal and rubber weights is comfortable and the velcro is very good and lasts. My biggest reason for giving this 3 stars is they do not last. I ordered my first pair in mid April and one of the gloves started to rip along the seams after about 2 months of use. I wore it another 1.5 weeks before the seams ripped through about 3 of the fingers and it was no longer usable. Didn't think much of it just though it may have been a hokey pair so I ordered another in early July. Come mid September I ran into the same problem. The seam along one of the gloves is again ripping. It started along the inseam of the finger and am expecting it to only get worse within the coming days. In terms of use I am in the gym 4 times a week however I still feel 2.5 months should not be a reasonable life expectancy. I will be contacting Amazon to see what I can do about a replacement/refund.

If you plan to use these for a a substantial amount of weightlifting I would suggest finding another pair however if these are for light to medium use then they are probably okay.

When I decided to buy these gloves I was looking for quality, design and price.
I choose these because for the price range these looked the best and the quality seemed good.
When I got them, my first impression was that they seem sturdy, at least the front side. The back side is made of mesh like material so that your hands "breath" while your working out and they dont get sweaty. No one likes sweaty hands specially when your lifting heavy weights. I never have gotten sweaty hands and I usually work out for about an hour to an hour and a half. heavy use, they are still going strong and I have even throwed them in the washer. They have not tor or have gotten damaged so far. (ive owned these for several months by now)
When you have the gloves on, you are able to grab weights and other things without feeling like its restricting your movements. Your able to bend and move your hands freely and with ease.
I recommend these gloves because they are made with style and are good quality. They feel good and they wont get your hands sweaty, but they wont protect your wrists, so if you want wrist protection look somewhere else.
