MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS - I did not enjoy these characters, sad to say. I read a preview in the first book & it had so much promise. For me it really fell short. Quinn has always followed in her daddy's footsteps, becoming a mechanic & later taking over his garage Pixie Wheels when her father loses his way. Her father became a terrible alcoholic after the death of Quinn's mother & now besides single-handedly running the garage & trying to keep it afloat, she has to clean up her mess of a father & make sure he is breathing & tuck him in bed every night. No man, no nightlife, no friends for Quinn. And then Tazen takes away the only thing that kept her breathing - her garage. I guess that is the part that I struggle with - Quinn has so much fire & attitude, a girl living in a man's world, Tazen kisses her face off after he's already stripped her of her dreams, and Quinn keeps running back to him for scraps - little jobs at HIS garage, kisses & caresses from Tazen. He doesn't allow her to work outside his office at first, doesn't trust a girl around his precious engines? Yeah I didn't like Tazen at all, no matter how hot he was. In the end Tazen makes it all up to Quinn & they get their HEA but I wanted Quinn to win on her own & beat Tazen at his own game, not join him.

Fun romance with a different setting....the downer for me was Quinn. She was an emotional wreck. She sure faced difficult circumstances but instead of showing true strength, she showed her crazy girl side. Kind of wish she would have ended up with Jace, he had more charm.

Hated Tazen from the beginning and never stopped. Couldn't believe she took a knock to the head and was like...oh we took it too far...lets forgive and get naked. WTH In the beginning they feel and she landed on the bottom crying out in pain and what does he do grinds he junk into her. I couldn't like either character.

While i am usually a huge fan of all Bella Jewel books, sadly this one was a miss for me. I didn't like Tazen, at all! he was a jerk and for me that just got the whole book off on the wrong foot. It seems that you can't help who you fall for though, and clearly Quinn in this story fell hard for this bad boy. Their relationship also seemed to jump from zero to 100mph and awkwardly.
I am sure many readers will love this story and these characters, but Tazen is not for me.

Tazen Watts is a custom car builder who turns Quinn’s life upside down when he shows up at her garage to buy it out. Quinn has taken over her father’s garage because her father is drowning in alcohol and can’t handle it. Quinn has been working with cars her whole life and the garage is important to her but Tazen doesn’t care and does what he wants.

I wasn’t sure about Tazen at first. He came across as a heartless a******e; he buys the garage out from under her and treats her like a child. I was frustrated with the fact that although she had a team of mechanics, and ran the place, Tazen acted like she was pretending to be a mechanic. Quinn refuses to give up and demands a job but in doing so she has to prove herself to Tazen. I seriously disliked this part. It was very obvious that Quinn was good at what she did, I was unhappy with the fact that the story had to go in the “girl trying to prove herself in a man’s world” route.

Quinn had her moments of acting like a silly girl around Tazen (as a lot of Ms. Jewel’s heroines do) but for the most part I liked her. I warmed up to Tazen a little and he came through in bringing Quinn into the fold. I liked the progression their romance took. They are hot for each other but they also start to open up and learn about each other. Bella Jewel tends to rush her stories but in this case I thought she did well with the pacing. Quinn was pretty funny and I liked the scene where she had a little Q&A with Tazen.

I felt the situation with Sheyenne fizzled out; I was expecting something big to happen with her and didn’t go anywhere. All in all I did enjoy Hard to Break and I definitely liked it more than Hard to Fight.

How can I explain Bella Jewels books with out giving away anything on the story but being able share the beauty of it? Well that there is my problem because truthfully I just want to share the whole story.

Tazen  and Quinn are funny, witty, constantly fighting but have the  most amazing connection through the love of cars.

Quinn is a mechanic born and raised. Her dad was a very Har working mechanic the best one in the town they live in. However his life took an abrupt turn when Quinn's mom died. Leaving Quinn to be the responsible one.

I love that Quinn is a female who is strong enough to stand on her own 2 feet. She can handle herself very well next to any man. Even though she lives in constant put down because she chooses to live her life in a setting that is normally dominated by men. She doesn't back down and keep perusing what she loves.

However when Tazen comes into her life just to take all she had left she becomes more determined to show everyone what she is made of.

Tazen is a hot and very famous car builder. Who has his own empire. But it not enough to have one of the biggest shops in LA he wants the shop Quinn's family owns. But he also wants Quinn.

From the moment he saw her he was intrigued. Then he comes to find out she is the mechanic who owns the shop he is looking to buy. That doesn't stop him though he continues to peruse her and taking whatever she throws at him.

Hard to Break is very hot and entertaining. The chemistry between Tazen and Quinn is very intense  and keeps you on wanting to read more about what goes on between them. I can honestly say I have never read a Bella Jewel book that I didn't love or fall inlove with its characters.
