I received my package in remarkable time: ordered it on Wednesday night (late), it was delivered on Friday. Item was well packaged, and should have survived shipping. However, when I opened it up, 6 tiny screws with black plastic rings on them fell out of the packaging. All of the screws were still embedded in the plastic stand-off's that they were screwed into. After closer inspection, I discovered that the screws were meant to hold the molded plastic release mechanism down so that when the ribbon (which is marked 250GB) is pulled, it deflects the plastic lock that holds the drive enclosure securely in the Xbox 360 Slim. With all 6 screws broken, this release mechanism didn't work. I considered returning the broken item, but then realized that I could just use epoxy to fasten the plastic pieces together where the screws failed.
These are cheaply made parts with low-quality/brittle plastics; but they serve the purpose of securing a hard drive inside the Xbox 360 Slim just fine. Once it's installed, the plastic is adequate to protect the drive and secure it in place, you likely will never need to remove it (unless your hard drive dies or fills up).
