Penni’s looking for Dan. After their mission together in Malaysia, she wasn’t sure she was going to ever see him again. When she got home to D.C., she realized how much she cared for him–and she was pretty sure he felt the same way. She really wanted to talk to him–face-to-face–and see if she was right. Bad things had happened to her and her Secret Service teammates on the mission in Malaysia–just terrible–so it was no surprise that she’d quit her job. When she hits Black Knights in Chicago, though, it’s a little difficult to get through to Dan. He’s gone! But everyone there is incredibly encouraging that she go where he is…so she does.
Dan is on a mission in Peru to find the second CIA traitor holding enough confidential information to blow the world sky high. But they’re not the only group trying to find him. A mysterious gun-toting Russian’s in town as well as that weird feeling Dan’s got that he’s being watched–which might be a third potential competitor for the prize. When Penni shows up in the town square, at first he’s elated. He hasn’t been able to stop thinking about her since their mission in Malaysia. But when things start getting dicey and their lives are in danger, he’s not so thrilled that she’s in the line of fire.Read more ›

Like the others in this series there is action, adventure and love. The characters are what make each book special and this book may be the most special of them all. Dan and Penni feel real. The secondary characters provide comedic relief and this is an all around great read for those who love romantic suspense. Although this is part of a series it and each of these books can be read stand alone.
This is a great second chance at love romance!
Dan "The Man" Currington is a grieving widower who lost his wife in a violent shooting two years ago; in the first book, I believe. He lost himself at the bottom of the bottle for a while. He's sober now but still struggling along until he meets Penni DePaul. Readers saw the writing on the wall when he hooked up with her in the last book, when that massive bombing nearly took out my beloved Ozzie along with the rest of Penni's secret service team. Now this story opened with Penni showing up in Chicago for some unfinished business with Dan, and then following him halfway around the world. She lands right in the middle of a dangerous mission as Dan and his team are on the trail of a traitor and find themselves the target of a hardened killer.
I loved the main couple in this one. Dan deserved a second chance at love even though he never expected to find it. Throughout the series we've watched as he struggled and nearly lost the fight. I loved that he got to find his happiness again. Dan and Penni had such an amazing connection and they were perfect for each other. I also liked that Penni ended up being a total badass, in my opinion; she fit right in with the Black Knights family. Of course, they had some issues, and the inevitable mistake that threatens to break hearts.
My favorite quote came near the end of the book. It's something that Dan says and I felt it was so sweet and sad at the same time. I loved how the author handled the issue, his feelings for his dead wife, without making it any less. It really couldn't have been done any other way.
He said, "Love isn't something you find, it's something that finds you.Read more ›
