Jonah Taylor is a friend to all, he is the first guy to lend a hand or awords of comfort and support. He is also the guy who feels like a fifth wheel as all his friends are finding love. His life has changed so much in the last year, he’s single, he’s a new business owner...and he’s lonely. How can a man surrounded by so much love be lonely? Very easily when all you want is your own love, your own happily ever after. When a shy, handsome Cameron Vaughn walks into Jonah’s wellness center, life as Jonah knows it is about to change.
Cam is a man with a past that has shaped him into an anxiety ridden, nervous man. He lives a very solitary life, he works and he goes home. Until the day he nervously steps into Jonah’s wellness center and takes a chance. Cam not only takes a chance on himself, but on a friendship with Jonah. While being around Cam so much makes it difficult for Jonah to hide his attraction to the man, Jonah is determined to be Cam’s friend. All Cameron has ever wanted was to know his own mind and his own heart, being friends with Jonah is exhilarating, but also makes him have more questions than answers. These two have a lot to figure out, but they are both worth every ounce of worry or stress that may cause. These are two good men, men who could be extraordinary together if they both take the leap.
Cam and Jonah’s story has some heartache in it, the type that only unconditional friendship and love can help. I love each word of this book, I felt each one in my gut and in my heart. Cam’s pain and Jonah’s response to it is so heartwarming. Cameron blossoming in his relationship with Jonah is simply beautiful. There is a scene in the book that while it is incredibly sexy, the message behind it...is stunning. We all have value and we are all deserving of love. Jonah and Cam show us that while we may be a little damaged, we’re not broken. Their story is one of courage, of friendship, love and finding the one place you truly belong in the world. This is a story of hope, this is a story of finding and choosing your family.
Jonah had seen Cameron watching him. The interest definitely went both ways. Jonah get the chance to open up his own gym in Havens Cove and figures he will never see Jonah again.
Meddling family put Cameron back into Jonah’s orbit. They slowly begin to connect. Jonah knowing his secret will probably push Cameron away, but knowing he has to tell him if they are going to move forward.
I liked Jonah and Cameron together. Their interactions were honest and I was happy with that. I realize that Cameron's history dictated the pace of the story but at some times it moved slow. I also think the drama towards the end of the story took away from the overall impact of them together. I do look forward to the next book.
Can't wait for more from this town and author. Loving world she is building.
I can't wait for the next book.
