This is the best Hank ever. Ever. It pretty much has everything: Hank, Cliston, Garm, weird sports, team building, violence, Ziggles/Ziggy, Delovoa, and a lot of other stuff. Including an immersive Glocken experience. It's like your being pummeled, crushed, spanked, dismembered, and otherwise violated in person while you read along. Pretty fun stuff.
But the real reason I love these books is because they're funny. Very funny. Forget the intricate plot lines, the gripping twists and turns, the shameful sex, and the description of situations, species, and the nauseatingly hideous things Delovoa gets up to. It's the dialog that keeps bringing me back. Shakespeare wishes he was this funny. I don't, maybe he was. I can never get past that whole Iambic Pentameter thing.
But this. Read this. Then buy more.
Ok, Campbell. I wrote the review. Now give me back my dog. Unshaved this time, if you don't mind.
I love this series, Hank's interactions give him, and the city that he lives in, depth and character. Sometimes Hank is the man of the moment and others, cannot even be bothered to stop eating.
I recommend this to anyone that is realizes the truth, no hero is perfect.
I found myself laughing out loud at the dialogue and crazy predicaments Hank gets into.
By the way Steve... you done with book 6 yet?
How bout now?
The author, Mr. Campbell, continues to improve his skills in every way. Every character in the story feels well developed and unique, and the humor is high quality and consistent throughout. The universe is solid not just for its ingenuity but also its flexibility; there are so many more stories to explore in the Hank-o-verse, and I look forward to reading them all.
