My favorite part of Hard Pass are the main characters. Naomi reminds me so much of myself other women I know. We’re trying to carry the world around on our shoulders and hardly ever get to rest or relax. As the story develops Naomi does learn to accept help and let others handle some of their responsibilities.
The writer’s voice really carries both Jackson and Naomi to their full potential and brings them to life. They’re developed, relatable, and by the end of the book likeable.
I never like Lydia from start to finish, but I don’t think we were meant to. That girl has some issues she needs to work out! Who just leaves their kid like that? Sure, be mad at the dad, but don’t take it out on the baby! The writer did an excellent job of making her ‘bad’ character someone I don’t like.
Throughout the book secrets unravel from beginning to end. It keeps you wondering (sometimes in a frustrated way) if these people will ever get it right, but it’s written in a way that you really hope they do. The plot was strong enough with enough going on that I read it in just two settings with taking a break for dinner in between.
I’d recommend this book if you’re looking for an interesting romance read that a has a good plot as well as a sexy male lead.
As for me, I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more books by Raven Rivers.
The second book got on my last nerve. Especially when she found out about the other pregnant woman, she didn't give him a chance to explain. Then, when she got pregnant, she treated James crappy. He was begging her to come home because he wanted her to have the baby in New York, he wanted to be there. I was angry at her for having the baby in Florida without him and she wasn't understanding about how he felt. His dumb behind still loved and wanted to marry her. I didn't care about her being kidnapped. I am done talking because as I talk, I get angrier and angrier. UGH!!!
The next story with the nurse and the billionaire was hilarious. He has a stress attack rushed to the hospital sees this gorgeous nurse and bullies the hospital send her to his house to be his home nurse for four weeks. Knowing the nurse do not like him he tries everything for her to like him but you have to read to see what happens next.
