Review

"Just finished reading Hard Place. I reallyenjoyed and found difficult to put down."
Ian Hodgkinson

From the Author

I came to write Hard Place because of a chance discussion with a London Metropolitan Police detective who told me a true life story involving drug-running on a grand scale.
I had never written a book involving a police officer before but took on the challenge to build a new story inspired loosely by the details of the amazing tale he had told me. This book is the result and along the way I had ongoing support from him and other colleagues.
Further investigations revealed the (to me) somewhat ludicrous (and yet understandable) political tensions involving fighting the war in Afghanistan by the British and American military and from other nations. Thus I built in the conflicting push and pull between pragmatism, politics, life and death in war weighed against life and death on the streets of our cities through drug dealing. Detective Inspector Todd "Ratso" Holtom found it difficult to get his head around fighting a war against drug barons with at least one arm tied behind his back.

Read on to discover precisely why he was so frustrated!
